If you're new to punch needle, this is a good start to practice. You do need to use your own thread/yarn. The threader is flimsy but that's typical of most of the punch needle threaders out there, unless you make your own. The hoop is basic, it doesn't have the lip that most Morgan hoops have to keep the fabric as drum tight as possible but the monk fabric stays in place for the most part if you screw the hoop as tight as you can and pull the fabric to stretch every now and then. Like I said, the value is good as a beginner to practice on before you invest more money into the higher quality punch needle pens, different cloths, and a better hoop or rug hooking square frame.

The threader was garbage and it only came with one tiny piece of monk's cloth, but for the price, it works great. If you're getting this for the tool itself, do it. It works great and is easy to thread if you have a better quality threader.

The Punch Needle itself works great. The hoop that comes with it does not stay tight enough to use for Punch Needling, you have to use a different hoop or mounting frame to get the best results. I also only gave 4 stars because there are no written instructions with this set.

This kit actually contains everything except thread/yarn to get started. The fabric is a good sized piece of Aida cloth that has a bigger pattern than you would see for most cross stitching patterns. The hoop is a smaller one but made out of bamboo which is my preferred material since it has both give when needed and it holds the fabric stronger than plastic hoops.

This was junk, didn’t work for me at all..is not smooth on the inside and snags the thread. Don’t recommend.

The product arrived damaged and somehow misleading, I did not read the description properly, I believed I would be getting a free stitch pattern as seen in product description. All the contents in the package are sturdy and nice except damaged wood ring....

While I haven't used this kit, it's a gift for a niece. I've used these before so I'm sure it will be just as easy.

This set looks absolutely nothing like the picture and I was very disappointed to have spent 10 dollars on it.
