Tasty Sweet, Savory And (Mildly) Spicy BBQ. Good On Salmon & Popcorn, Probably Other Stuff
This is a good sweet and savory BBQ spice that has a dash of heat in it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd call this spice a 3 at most. It has a little kick to it but you won't feel a burn in your mouth at all. While most of these spices are primarily intended for meat (and are good on various meats) they can also be good on popcorn. I noticed another reviewer discovered this too.For popcorn, I make microwave popcorn, add some extra butter and then sprinkle some of this spice on. It is easy to put too much of this on popcorn so you'll need to go easy if you go this route. When you use it on popcorn, it's not really sinking in and blending with the popcorn as it does on fish or red meat. For popcorn, start out light and if you need more flavor, just add it. The sweet really comes out on popcorn.I also used this on a thick salmon fillet put in the oven at 425 for about 10 minutes and it is quite good there too. The sweet comes through the most, with a milder BBQ flavor and not much spice. Of course the less you put on, the more it tastes like plain salmon and the more you dump on the stronger the flavors of this spice become.Though I do like this, it's probably not a spice I'd actually order again for salmon. For salmon my goto is "McCormick Grill Mates Brown Sugar Bourbon". It's cheaper and at least on par with this for salmon though I wouldn't use it on popcorn. This is also good on burgers. I tend to pan fry those in an iron skillet, put some seasoning on the burger and then put some sort of cheese on top. This adds a bit of sweet, a bit less of BBQ and no noticeable spice to a burger. This is good but it doesn't rank up among my favorites. It's moderate sweetness, slightly less BBQ and very mild heat. Sound good? Give it a try!

Very nice flavor: Shawhan Farms Buck's Spicy & Sweet BBQ Seasoning
Arrived fresh before exp date. Very good flavor: I use it a lot as a dry bbq rub for ribs and they come out very tasty. Good quality.

Makes a good bowl of flaored popcorn! Sweet and savory.
A lot of people use these Shawham seasonings for rubs or to otherwise flavor grilled meats. And they're great for that. But I use them for something else: To flavor popcorn.Yes, you read that right. I pop up some popcorn (air popper), spray it with a bit of aerosol coconut oil, then shake on some of this seasoning. The oil is only required to get the spice mixture to stick to the popcorn. The result is the best low calorie and inexpensive snack going. This particular spice mixture "Spicy & Sweet BBQ," is particularly well suited to this endeavor. The sweet notes here, from sugar and honey, are pretty strong, and go terrifically with the mild kick of the spices. Honestly, I wish it were a bit kickier on the spice scale, but others who tried this said the spice level is "just right" for snacking. So the consensus has it.Note that though it's not listed, this tastes like it has cumin in it. It does claim "other spices". I don't like cumin much and am pretty sensitive to it. But the other flavors are so good, I can deal with it.

Sweet with a little spice
While I do enjoy this seasoning, I think $10 is a little much. I only say that because I've had just as good seasonings for less and horrible seasonings for more. I like the idea of it being a sweet heat, although I taste more sweet then heat personally. If you are one who is sensitive to heat, then you'll probably taste it, but for those of us who eat spicy on a regular basis you won't taste it as much. The mixture of the two is very pleasant though and I nearly used the whole bottle on a pulled pork I had on the pellet grill. The bottle itself is a nice size and fits in my spice rack even being a larger sized bottle. It didn't have any excess seasoning spilled or anything of that nature, so it's a solid container. The quality is very good. I just think the $7-8 range would be better for this since it's not as "spicy" as I was hoping for. That doesn't mean it isn't great though. I would purchase if it had a coupon or promotion going on.

No flavor, just sweet
This BBQ spice rub is perhaps not suited for what I tried it on. Mostly this spice blend is made of honey granules, with some hot peppers and other mystery spices thrown in. All that I've noticed from this spice blend is that it makes things a little sweet. The heat from the spice does not even register when I've eaten it. I really couldn't get much flavoring out of it at all when I mixed it into meat for burgers, it just made them sweet. Perhaps if you use it as a dry rub for specifically BBQ, then it makes more sense? I just couldn't imagine using it on anything that I like to make since it did not impart much flavor at all.

Sweet and slightly spicy.
This is a pretty nice barbeque seasoning that is sweet and slightly spicy. It's great for smoking pork or barbequing ribs. I have also used it on chicken, and it turned out pretty good. What I have been doing lately with this is adding other spices too. I will add salt and herbs to whatever I'm cooking then add this for the sugar and spice flavoring. It usually turns out really well. I like how they use granulated honey for the sweetness and not just all sugar. So this is pretty nice on its own, or experimenting with this and other spices and herbs.

Tasty rub
I used this on a tritip tonight before I grilled it and it seasoned it beautifully. This is a nice balance of smoky and a touch sweet with a definite spicy kick to it. I literally rubbed it onto my tritip then after it sat for a few minutes I rolled it in the rub a second time. After being grilled it had a really nice and flavorful crust that everyone enjoyed. It's also a fine enough grind you can use it at the table for fried or seared meats and even season your vegetables with.

Mostly granulated honey and sugar...
The first two ingredients are granulated honey and sugar but this seasoning mix also includes chiles and other spices. I would have liked to see the breakdown of the other spices though perhaps they aren't listed separately due to it being a proprietary blend. Overall, this is a great way to season most anything BBQ.
