Continuous scratching can be a sign of your cat (or dog) being allergic to flea bites and drive your pet crazy. This is call Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), the fleas leave their saliva under the skin when they bite. If you treat the fleas, then fewer fleas will be biting, and so the allergic response will be less. Then this product can work better to minimize the itching. You gotta treat the problem which is the fleas.

To really treat the environment for fleas, you have to attack ALL of the fleas and the flea eggs. Everywhere that your cat sleeps is a place for fleas to breed: cat's bedding, your carpet, the yard (and possums are loaded with fleas). And other pets (cats, dogs). Most people forget the vacuum cleaner. Old style vacuum bags: fleas can jump out and eggs can still hatch unless you have a Hepa filter. Seal the vacuum bag in an airtight bag as soon as you vacuum and throw it in the trash. Or get a vacuum with a Hepa filter which the fleas cannot penetrate.

Treat the fleas (problem), your pet will thank you. This spray helps with the symptoms.
