Great for my 3 year old
Got these for my son's 3rd birthday, he loves them, 5 little blocks of words with a different vowel in the middle. I love them because they don't come apart so they don't get lost. Would recommend

Useful teaching method and building confidence.
Really helpful with children learning new words and being able to put them in the correct spelling order as well as pronunciation. Supplemented with colourful phonic cards to reinforce learning ability and understanding of sounds .

Fantastic early phonics toy!
I bought these blocks to encourage my 3 young grandchildren (aged between 20 months and 3 and 8 months) to recognise letters and begin to use them to make 3 letter words. I was surprised they appealed to all 3 children in different ways. all The eldest is already beginning to blend letters into words. Iโm sure they will continue to play with them as there are so many activities to do with them. They are great to use at home and in the car I will also be using them in school with EYFS and KS1.

There is no letter S
Product is great and 4year old is enjoying them. However there is no S! Considering the amount of words that can be made with an S and in the UK this is the first letter taught itโs a bit crazy.

Our grandson is sounding out words before his 3rd birthday! Phonics Rocks!
What do you know? It seems current literature on reading education in young children is going back to recommending a phonetic approach to teaching reading and spelling. I learned to read this way, and I never had any spelling issues. I learned to speak foreign languages and pronounce scientific terms correctly using phonics. My younger brother (just 3 years behind me) learned to read with a new approach in the late 1960's, he can't spell to this day. So my little grandson has been using this Montessori manipulative to learn how to read an spell words by sounding them out phonetically. He now asks if he can read with his parents some beginner reading books (Biscuit Finds a Friend, he likes this one in particular). For a child who will be three in August, he is showing advanced reading readiness and he is going to be reading above grade level when he enters preschool next fall. I cannot recommend this product enough. This is a true Montessori Method concrete manipulative teaching tool. Our son attended a Montessori School from age 3.5-9.5. Concrete manipulatives help students to take abstract concepts (such as letter sounds or arrangements) and have concrete experiences using physical manipulatives relating to the subject area/skill they are trying to master. This method of teaching/learning is rooted in developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience and it works well from our experience. This is a must for homeschooling parents or leaders of a home learning pod of preschool and kindergarten pupils. Great value for the money.
