The timeless adage "you get what you pay for," rings true when dealing with a good barber kit. In this case, I decided to spend a few extra dollars to get a sharp/durable kit that had that visual appeal. I have used this kit 2x so far and the set provides a flexible array of uses; a full hair style change or trim. The thinning shearers worked surprisingly well considering my thick black hair (hence my search for Japanese-Steel). Usually the cheap silver sets needed a little more persuasion. Rosewood deserves credit for assembling a quality product that is perfect for home use. Beyond home use, I'm not a professional by any means -- but I wish I had this when I was trimming everyone's hair back in college. Credit to the company for FAST shipping. This item arrived to the US faster than some of the items I purchased in the US (Corona Virus spending haha). Overall, I'm grateful that I discovered this sleek set and it was worth my 20 minute research. Save your time and get one.

These scissors are good quality for the price and cut well. They just need a tiny drop of oil at the screw to be amazingly smooth. To be clear, even the most expensive professional shears need to be oiled regularly so just letting readers know that you should take this step before the first use and you will notice how smooth these are. Be careful to wipe all extra oil from the scissors - you really just want to lubricate the pivot screw. The included combs are nice - anti-static, professional quality. I like that the case is included so I can keep everything together and protected.

I love how you hold them. Very comfortable and stable to cut. The entire blade is not very sharp. The very end cuts nice though. It just has to be thin pieces. My kids have thick hair so it doesn't cut well for thick hair. The thinning shears aren't very sharp either as it pulls after it's cut. Over all, it's better than hair cut scissors you buy from a normal store as the cut it gives is like a professional cut, however the blades on both aren't as sharp as I'd like them to be.

Like so many others during this time of social distancing our hair has begun to get out of hand with no recourse. My wife volunteered to cut my hair and I wanted to supply the proper tools. Needless to say, quality hair cutting scissors are pricey. After much reading, I settled on this option because it seemed to be adequate for our limited needs, it was priced reasonably, and it could be delivered in a few days instead of having to wait several weeks. The scissors and other items are not what a professional hair dresser likely needs for day to day usage but it was perfect for our needs and will last for many years with the limited use we will provide. The delivery occurred in a few days and came from Virginia which is my wife's home state. Go Hoos! Finally, the price was justified. My wife gave me a reasonably decent haircut thanks in part to YouTube. Neither of us is ready for me to return the favor but this kit would certainly not be an hindrance. If you need a good set of hair cutting scissors and accessories for a fair price in a few days, you will not be disappointed.

I would give these a higher rating but the scissors aren’t super sharp and instead of cutting the hair smoothly it’s pushes the hair towards the tip of the scissor in order to cut which ultimately makes the job a little more time consuming. I will say the thinning shears are decent and get the job done.
