Thanks** A: All I can tell you is that I have the original 009 distributor with a Pertronix Ignitor II electronic ignition conversion kit and my 1968 1500 engine runs very good, and I have no complaints, but if you have a China carb. - get one made in Brazil - I could never get the China version to run properly no matter what I did to it. Hope this helps. Tom **Q: Will 30mm fit my son's '69 Beetle?** A: It depends. If it is a single port engine, yes it will bolt up directly. If it's a dual port, you will need an adapter, as dual port engines have a slightly larger intake flange. Other than a stuck float when mine arrived, the carb was great, and bolted right up to my 1500 SP engine. Fired right up after I cleaned the float. **Q: Will this fit a 1974 Volkswagen Super beetle?** A: Purchased this carb -tried everything possible but could never get it to idle right - found a couple other forums where the same problem existed and carb was tried on multiple vehicles with the same result and found recommendations to buy a Brosol H30/31 carb actually manufactured in Brazil unlike the Chinese crappy imitation and problem solved - ran perfect from the instant it fired up. My application is a vw trike with 1968 1500 single port engine. Both of them leaked. one of them the float wasn't set so it would dump fuel everywhere after the car was shut off and the other leaked from the excelarator pump cover.
