This is the best model for holding my iPhone 6 in place for google map-reading while driving.It's strong enough to hold the phone in place on the ventilation louvres without the whole setup falling down if we hit a bump in the road.You do have to use a little brute force to put the phone in place, and I've bashed up the rubber "skin" on my phone because of the strong clamping action, but I always buy cheap skins, so it's not that big a deal in my case. The model of car holder which we used before was the exact opposite... a very gentle touch was required, and sometimes if I let someone else put their phone in there, they'd mess it up because they weren't careful enough.One thing I love about this holder: nothing supporting or occluding the bottom... this thing just clamps the phone from the two sides. So you can plug in your earphones and the charging cable which go in on the iPhone right there at the bottom.

I bought it because I loved the one my friend bought. When I got this one I was excited. Not any more. It doesn’t stay up and vibrates off when the phone is on it. My son is using it to hang his cords when we travel. I hope I can find the one my friend has.

I initially bought this for my Jeep with rounded air vents. It works very well for thatbecause of the added support “leg”. After around 2 months of use I bought a second to put in my wife’s Nissan Rogue.It’s worth reading the small instruction booklet to understand how it’s supposed to be installed. I threw hers out before she could read it, and she had a hard time figuring it out with help. My only other improvement opportunity is that you need two hands to place and remove the phone. I ended up bending one of the grip arms so that I could more easily pivot the phone in and out.

It’s difficult to put the cell phone in it. I wouldn’t buy it again.
