The Miniature Self Watering Plant System is designed for small self sustaining plants that brighten up any room and lift spirits! Whether you start from seed or transplant from other pots the result is the same - a beautiful bit of growing life to brighten your day that keeps itself watered and alive. The system is made up of four parts - the plant pot, the wick stick, the wicking string and the water reservoir. Together they make maintaining small plants easy and sustainable. The reservoir's cone serves two purposes - it creates a barrier to water evaporation and eliminates spills should the reservoir be tipped over Sources of plants abound at any garden supply or greenhouse and from your own garden. Simply find anything compact that catches your eye and subdivide the plants into smaller portions and replant in the small pot, insert the wick stick with wicking string in a hole in the bottom of the plant pot, fill reservoir with about 3/4" of water up to the bottom of the reservoir cone and place the pot in the reservoir with the wicking string in the water. Be sure to observe the lighting requirements for you miniature garden. Some plants thrive on plenty of water and others like to go almost dry. Regulation is simple with the Speedy System. If your plant is getting too much water simply lift the pot from the reservoir, unhook the wick from the forked WickStick tip, lay the wick on the ledge of the water reservoir and replace the pot thus trapping the wick out of the water. To resume water wicking lift the pot, slip the wick into the tip of the forked WickStick and guide the wick back down into the water as you lower the pot.
