Very solid and large volume
Pleasantly surprised! This bag is very well built with good material. I suppose users with bad experiences didn't put much thought in the way they filled and tightened it. Leaving the front of it to flap around in 60mph + wind will damage even the best material and over-tightening the straps will fatigue any stitching, no mater how well done. Think aerodynamics when packing it and don't think more is better when applying force to the corner straps. I recommend adding one or two long nylon straps going fully around the bag and the roof racks or roof basket to keep the whole thing flatter and from flapping in the wind , and of course any sharper object will need to be padded with something soft. Also, keep this bag open and outside for a few days unless you like breathing in toxic PVC fumes.Did not experience rain but the large overlap over the zippers would make it hard for water to creep in I suppose, but in the front as the wind lifts it up, making the use of the extra straps I recommended probably a good idea again

Just buy it
We traveled 580 miles each way. I have a Dodge Journey and needed the extra space for luggage. We drove through the mountains and coming back had rain. Of course there was some resistance, but we didn’t notice a huge difference in gas mileage, maybe 5 MPG. Water proof, and the luggage carrier stayed slip free! The carrier zips all the way around, has a flap that folds down and velcros. I would definitely but this product again when needed. Our luggage carrier is still in tip top shape!!!

False claims - does NOT work without roof rails
I ordered this to store my clothes on top of my f150 while moving across the country. It seems durable and well made but there is NO WAY for this to attach without roof rails. I had assumed it would strap through the doors, which I am OK with, I've secured a lot of roof loads in my life this way for camping and moving... but the straps are NOT long enough to reach through the cab. I am going to end up modifying the straps and putting new buckles on them in order for it to work, but I'm pretty torqued off because I ordered this one SPECIFICALLY because I don't have roof rails and I don't have time to return it and order something else now. Waste of my time and money.

Good, well constructed bag… but NOT WATERPROOF!
Was extremely happy with the bag until I arrived home from our first trip. Our trip out was great. Fit perfectly in a third party roof rack. Was generous enough for gear, some duffles and a few cases a beer. Zipped up easy, flaps stayed secure and straps cinched up tight. Stopped once to double check and knot off the extra straps which were flapping. Some extra wind noise was expected and the amount was acceptable. Drove 600 miles at 75 mph and no sign of loosening or stress.Unpacked and found everything in perfect condition.Packed for return trip. Easier my second time. Unfortunately hit rain about halfway through our trip. Lasted about an hour. It was medium to heavy rain.Left car packed overnight as we arrived home late. Unpacked today to find everything damp to wet. Not soaked, but wet through cargo bag and the nylon duffles through and through. Nothing is ruined but I definitely need to wash and dry everything. Just glad it was my clothing and not my wife’s.In short. It’s a fine bag, well constructed but NOT waterproof. DO NOT put anything it that needs to remain dry. Would definitely put the duffles in trash bags for next trip as my buddy had suggested. Live and learn.
