I got these primarily to join pex and 1/2 in copper pipe. The standard copper pipe is 1/2 in i.d. and would not fit. I believe that the ad indicated that these would do the job. They would probably work with 1/2 in copper HVAC type pipe since it is 1/2 in o.d. The price is great and they seem to fit well with the pex. I am using the pex for compressed air in my home shop.

When I used these as they were intended to be used for, they work great. The application I purchased them for had constant movement causing them to be moving all the time, which I should have realizes was going to cause them to leak.
