The Ultimate Superhero Movie Guide

Great Summary of Superhero Movies by one of the best current Film Journalists Helen O'Hara. Great for fans of not only Superhero Movies, but also general film and pop culture fans. Beautiful book. Check out her podcast 'Empire Film Podcast' as well.

Great pics, mostly great entries, some titles do not get equal treatment
The book is at it's best when she covers the movies that she really likes and and there are sections such as on best supervillain with a photo and concise info on each. You get plenty on select Batman, Spider-Man, Hellboy, Blade, Watchmen, Iron Man, Hulk, X-Men, Thor, Scott Pilgrim , Aquaman, Captain America, The Avengers, Big Hero 6, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man, Deadpool, Doctor Strange, Shazam!, Captain Marvel, Suicide Squad, Black Panther, and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). Just to be clear, these are the theatrical versions, no TVMs or theatrical serials are covered, thus do not expect coverage of those here. A s I pointed out, not all titles get equal treatment, there is a section on superheroes created for the big screen, examples are Super, The Incredibles, Darkman and the Unbreakable trilogy, one on cult classics such as The Rocketeer and Dredd, and one on movies that she did not care for such as Howard the Duck, Supergirl, Judge Dredd (the one with Sylvester Stallone), Steel, Spawn, The Spirit (the TVM one is not covered), Elektra, and Catwoman. In all fairness, most of the 11 that she tersely covered in the latter section do not have a lot of fans, but if you are hoping for more on how they differ from their print versions, you will not get that kind of info in this book. It is the laziness of these sections that make the title dishonest and what kept me from giving this a 5 star rating. Excellent, just not first rate.

Self opinionated.
Not bad but basically just book of opinions by the author. Saying what she likes and doesn't. Thought it was going to be more of general look at different super herosNot one to keep
