D'Addario XS Acoustic Guitar Strings, Phosphor Bronze, Light, 12-53

I have used many, many different brands of strings over the years and I really feel as though I have found the 'Holy Grail' with these ones. I believe Taylor put them on all of their new guitars as standard now, and I can completely understand why. They last FOR AGES! I play the life out of my guitar and I haven't seen any tarnishing at all. They take no time at all to 'bed in' and stay in tune well. Very easy strings to play, not too hard on the ol' fingers. Value for money as well due to the quality being so high. I genuinely believe if you fitted these to a mediocre or low end guitar, you would improve the sound quality drastically. They have such good tone and really bring my guitar to life.

these are really nice strings to play with and they do bend quite easily if that's what you require for some melodies.

For years I have been a D'Addario J16 person. I've had numerous guitars set up for them. However, I saw a talking head on YouTube raving about these strings and decided to try them on a guitar I was having serious doubts about keeping. My goodness, what a transformation! The guitar has gone from being one I avoid to one I pick up first when I have a choice. The strings have created greater volume, a more clear bass (before it sounded muted) and after 4 months have still not dulled (some people in the reviews have used their set for a year or more). All I can say to recommend these strings is that I now like the guitar they are on so much I feel it worthwhile to spend the money to have it set up with these strings, which is an investment of at least £100 or more.

These are the fully coated strings, as opposed to the black packaged ones that have coated wires. This means they clean easier and collect less crudge. Longevity should be similar as corrosion protection is the same. They look like Elixir, sound similar to similarly specced Elixir and are about the same price. I prefer the feel of Elixir though as I slide and slur strings. That said, if and when the price drops to give them an advantage, I might look again.

Was really looking forward to trying these new strings on my Faith guitar - the reviews were so good and these seemed to suit the style of my guitar and playing. Really disappointed that on increasing the tension (ie not even at the tuning stage) one string snapped at the bridge end. Have contacted D’Addario directly and hope just a dud string as these were much more expensive than my usual silk and steel. Update: within an hour of contacting D’Addario they replied, resolved by sending a replacement string and free set no issues. The staff member who dealt with it was excellent and professional and very apologetic for the problem.

best strings I have used so far, don't try to be a chad and get high guage... these are genuinely very full sounding, and dont require crazy hand strength to play.

These are the best acoustic strings I've ever tried. Whether phosphor bronze or the 80/20 version. They last waaay longer than non coated strings. They're well worth the extra money. They may cost double, but they last multiple times longer than a standard set of strings, making them far better value for money.

Got an acoustic guitar, then you cannot do better than treating yourself and putting on a set of strings that stay new for longer than any other set. Superb strings that sound wonderful.

I finally gave these strings a try a few months ago to see if the hype was worth it. I never cared much for Elixrs and the Martin SP's were ok but for the price dulled out sooner than I'd prefer. I've used Martin Monels and John Peasrse strings almost exclusively on my spruce/mahogany backed guitars for years and I can say that these strings are fantastic for that wood mix. They play well and last a fair bit (depending how much you play and for me it's a lot). These were on a cyber sale so I decided to pick up a few packs to keep the stocks well supplied. I always tell people who are looking for the best strings for a particular guitar etc. that there is no such thing and you need to try lots and go with what you prefer. These I think would fit the bill for most players and get you good bang for your buck especially if you aren't gigging or playing multiple times a week.

I tried the XS strings, and boy, do they make a difference! The really bring my Sire to a different level, very nicely balanced and no screeching when you slide your hand up and down the neck.
