Not as good as the Oatmeal and Raisin
These cookies are fine as in just okay. The Oatmeal and Raisin flavor is closer to a regular cookie in taste and texture.

Not fresh
I bought these cookies with flavor Peanut Butter Chocolate many times, but this time they really tasted like they are dried out! Even tough the expiration date is still okay. I tried eating two of them and could not finish eating them, because of the dried out flavor. I will still will rate them with three stars, since usually they taste fine. But overall I feel that all Erin Bakers Breakfast cookies have the same taste! I wish they would come up with some new flavors, like an only Oatmeal cookie without raisins. No one in my family likes to eat raisins. Or they had a cherry chocolate cookie once many years ago as a holiday flavor. They were so yummy, and I never understood why they discontinued them. Instead they offer the gingerbread and pumpkin flavor, which I don't like. For now I rather will bake my own breakfast cookies.

Drier than in store
My local store hardly carries these anymore so I was so happy to find them on Amazon! They’re edible but unfortunately a lot more dry than I’m store and I’ve been buying them for years :( the expiration date is already soon.

no double chocolate or chunks to be found (but my kids LOVES them, and that's what counts)
Here's the deal with these cookies: my 11 year old daughter, who is a super picky eater and usually tries to skip breakfast, loves loves loves these and now eats one for breakfast every day without fuss. So because of that, they are the best cookies on the planet in my book. I asked her what her opinion is and she said "I love them, They are really yummy. They are easy to eat and easy to bring with me on the way to school. They taste really nice."HOWEVER, I gotta be honest- I tried one of these "cookies" and I thought it was ... well, pretty rough stuff. I'm 42 years old, a vegetarian for the last 30 years, and I'm whole-grain obsessed and I've eaten every kind of whole grain snack that's been on the market. I eat quite a lot of food that's fairly bland so my bar was not set high.I tried one of these to see if they would be a good replacement for the Z-Bar I snack on during the day. I don't know where "Double Chocolate Chunk" comes from, but the cookie I ate had not a single chunk in it, nor did it taste much like chocolate. It tasted sort of chocolate-y in a "vegetables and grains pureed and hidden in foods that is tinted to look like chocolate cake" way, but "Double Chocolate Chunk" felt like a tease. Like I said, I eat multi-grain everything, including baked goods, so my expectations weren't high. I was hoping for something moist and sweet. The cookie tastes like paper pulp with some chewy raisin-y/date-y factor (turns out to be prunes) and a bit of fudge-y flavoring that's not sweet. Ingredients say it's a big oatmeal cookie sweetened with prunes and mixed with chocolate but the cookie I ate didn't taste like oatmeal at all. I'm really very confused. Especially at almost 300 calories.I feel like this is the sort of food that you should BURN calories by eating.BUT, my kid loves them. Eats them enthusiastically. Her friends like them, too. So I will continue to enthusiastically reorder them and recommend them.I never thought I'd give anything called "Double Chocolate Chunk" anything less than five glowing stars, but I'm not sure what to think of these. Just don't get your hopes too far up.

SO YUMMMY...I WANT ONE NOW!
11/18/10 UPDATE: Just wanted to say that the last batch of these we received are the best ever. They had more banana taste and had lots more walnuts. I love them even more! Also , all cookies we have received to date are fresh...NO mould!I am so addicted to these cookies! Love them! They are great for a meal substitute or snack . Not too sweet-just right. They are good for you too. What else could you want? No more dessert store bought cookies for us. One cookie and a glass of milk is pretty filling for me as the cookies are sizable. My son likes two at a time though. (Sometimes I do too!) We have disabilities in our home so 'easy' is a word we love. At first we tried the Morning Glory Cookies and loved those so ordered 4 more different kinds, caramel apple, banana nut, peanut butter with chocolate, fruit and nut . We all loved them all. The Caramel Apple went first though. My son's favorites are caramel apple, peanut butter with chocolate and banana nut. Frozen we heat in microwave 25 seconds. What I love about this one is banana flavor and texture of the walnuts. Just delicious! I want one right now but unfortunately we are out Darn it! Do not hesitate to try these in any flavor. They are a bargain. We are getting the automatic monthly shipping next month which is even more of a bargain and will order probably 10-12 packages at least, for 3 people. I told you we love them! Note: Freeze these immediately as they do not have preservatives in them...that is a good thing!UPDATE 11/7/10: I HAVE READ COMMENTS THAT SOME PEOPLE HAD THESE GET MOULD ON THEM. PLEASE REMEMBER TO FREEZE THESE AS THEY HAVE NO PRESERVATIVES. THERE IS A NOTE ON WHITE PAPER FROM ERIN BAKER IN EACH PACKAGE WHICH SUGGESTS YOU DO THIS AND WHY. JUST HATE TO SEE ERIN GET BASHED FOR THIS WHEN IT IS NOT HER FAULT. MINE GO IN THE FREEZER AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE. THAT WAY THEY ARE ALWAYS FRESH. STILL LOVE THESE COOKIES!I AM NOW ON MONTHLY AUTOMATIC MAILING SO WE HAVE THEM EVEN IF I FORGET TO ORDER ON TIME. THAT WAY IT IS EVEN LESS EXPENSIVE. HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG? GREAT BARGAIN FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE TO WATCH OUR PENNIES.MY MOM (who has alzheimers) LOVES THEM SO MUCH I HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I QUIT ORDERING THEM. SHE TALKS ABOUT THEM ALL THE TIME . SHE WAS FEELING SO DOWN AS SHE CANNOT COOK MUCH AT ALL ANYMORE AND SINCE THESE THEY ARE EASY FOR HER TO HEAT IN THE MICROWAVE, IT MAKES HER FEEL BETTER ABOUT HERSELF. THANK YOU ERIN!

Erin Baker's Caramel Apple Breakfast Cookie pkg of 12
1. Good value at $1.17/cookie for 12 cookies, Amazon one time purchase pricing. 2. Product did taste veryfresh. 3. Arrived 2 days late, seems like Amazon having a challenge with "on time" deliveries at the current time (12/13/22). 4. CARAMEL APPLE NOT VEGAN, my oversight in evaluating the product for purchase. 4. 58 grams total carbs per cookie. Total sugars are 21g and 12 g of that sugar is "added sugar". 300 calories in one cookie. Personal bottom line - I'd consider a product in this line that hopefully wouldn't taste like a sugar cookie.
