I bought this system to replace an existing, traditional alarm system which had become obsolete. Instant mobile notifications and alarm centre monitoring were a must for me when shopping around the various options. I came across this brand ‘SafelyTeam’, did some more digging and discovered don’t just do home security devices but home safety devices as well, something I hadn’t come across with other brands before.I decided to go for their flagship Habitat + Defender package which includes a comprehensive array of sensors for home security and safety. One of particular note is the air quality sensor which relays in real time to your phone the build-up of harmful compounds in a room. These can be released from a variety of everyday household products and is something I have become increasingly conscious about in recent times.Practically speaking the system was easy to set up following the video tutorial provided. At times the video went too fast but it’s very comprehensive. All the sensors are held in place with sticky pads so no issues there with marking the walls with screw holes. The app is fantastic, easy to navigate and full of customisability.Just to note there are additional monthly costs to run this system as there is with most smart home providers. I went for the full gold plan at £18.99 a month with does sound like a lot but this includes 24/7 monitoring from an alarm centre which can be set up to call you and others when an alarm has been triggered. This really does give me peace of mind, especially when away for my home for longer periods of time.Overall, there is very little to fault this system on and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for more than just the usual smart security device.

I bought the home security kit on prime after some research which arrived the next day as expected. This is their so called ‘defender’ package with is geared towards burglar and intruder alerts and deterrents and includes a keypad, motion sensor, window sensor, siren and the main hub as well as key card (to arm your alarm from the keypad).I got to work setting up the system the evening it arrived and had it ready to use within 30 minutes. Instead of a list of instructions there is a QR code which you scan using your phone which then takes you to a video tutorial on how to set up your system. This might not be to everyone’s taste, but I think it’s a nice touch and it is very easy to follow.I have been living with the system for about a week now and I find it very responsive and reliable. Although this kit seems on the more expensive side of smart home systems, there are actually a lot of features you would not get with other smart home providers with multiple alarm modes, temperature sensors in the devices (I’m going to use this for home automation in the future) and if you go for the sliver substitution plan for £9.99 as I have, cellular backup should your wifi go down.

I purchased the defender kit and I am very impressed so far. The installation process was simple, and the instructional video was easy to follow, all be it with a couple of pauses and rewinds. I had mine up and running in about 20 minutes or so, quicker than I thought considering I am not overly techy.The sensors and devices are solid and well-made and so far, the sticky pads are holding firm. Although it’s not the most important thing for home security, I like the design and look of the products. The keypad in particular has a nice look and feel to it.The app took a little bit of time to get used to but once you have used it a few times you’ll navigate your way though It very easily. There’s plenty of customisability and 3 different arming modes which I find very useful. The devices report back battery life as well as temperature to the main page of which is a nice touch. Notifications come though as expected when the siren is triggered (I have done a couple tests).The team were friendly and useful when they contacted me after I’d bought the kit to talk me though which monitoring plan would be best for me. I went for their silver plan priced at £9.99 per month.I was initially cautious about buying a security system form a fairly unknown brand but I would definitely recommend Safelyteam.

Easy to set up and install with no screws. The app is user friendly with some excellent features including the air quality monitoring page which you get if you have the air quality sensor. I’m going to buy some additional sensors to add to my system in the near future to cover more of my house.

Great smart home system with excelled features. Slight issue whilst trying to set up but customer support was quick and helpful.
