This retractable dog leash functions well. It uses a "ribbon" tether which is less prone to tangling and is stronger and more visible than a cord. The locking mechanisms work as expected. The outside is reflective. It has a little D-ring to tie a bag to it if you want. The latch attaches to the dog/collar easily and is plenty strong. The price is fair. I don't have any criticism. It works exactly as I want this to work and I've bought a few of these as my dog care professionals keep taking them home. They have all been excellent quality, the leashes, not the professionals:)

I needed a new retractable leash that would be long and strong enough (and a little wider = 1/2 in) for my pup that's going to grower larger than the dog I had previously. Not only is it well made, but it's comfortable to carry in my hand while walking the pup, and the fact that it is reflective both on the plastic and on the leash is a plus! Bright green really shows up as soon as it starts to get dark out. I also appreciate the auto locking button-works great when needing to allow the pup to have just the right amount of length to walk, but short enough to keep her from getting too far away from me. Definitely well worth the purchase!

This has endured 1.5 years of our young golden thus far. A little worse for the wear but still going. Been through dropping, being dragged on the ground, etc. The main con is sometimes the coil gets stuck or something and the leash gets momentarily locked but generally loosens again soon. We don’t really use the lock mechanism. Actually found the poop bag attachment quite useful. Really amazing it’s lasted this long…

I had gone with this style because it claimed to be sturdy and tough. Unfortunately less than 2 months after I started using it, the locking mechanism broke. If I still had my last dog, I might have understood that happening, she was a big strong dog. This broke while training a 16 # puppy. Two stars may be generous.****The product did fail, but I wanted to credit the manufacturer on following up when they heard about the problem. They reached out and refunded the leash, even though it was after the refund time. Every product can have a fail sometime, but not every manufacturer cares enough to follow up with each customer. This one did.

I've had this leash now for 3 or so months and take my 50 lb. Boxer out on walks several times a day. Though he's pretty well controlled most of the times, occasionally he'll see a rabbit or something else that provokes his attention and he can pull hard on the line. So far, the device has held up quite well. I love the 16' length as I can give him tons of line to explore. I do pay attention for anything that might cause him to bolt, that might force me to "put on the brakes" as when you press the button to stop giving slack to the line, you can hear plastic gears inside that lock the device down. At this point, all is holding up well, but I do wonder if over time, the internal gears will be the weak link. But for just $16 (at the time of my purchase anyway), while I would love to see this stay in service for a few years, I won't be entirely surprised if this is a yearly purchase. In the end, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I breed and train labradoodles and this is the best leash I have ever used. I have used many different brands and have had this for about a month and will see how it wears. But this far, it is extremely quiet in extending and recoil. But the most outstanding feature is the perfect amount of tension that allows even small 5 pound puppies the comfort of extending but yet the tension holds and the lead does not drag to the ground where the pup gets tangled around the feet. It stays snug when the pup slows and is a pleasure to use even though it is a good size unit. When not training, I normally walk 2 or 3 dogs at a time and having the lead snug at shoulder level is a tremendous help! In my opinion you have the market on this mechanism -- whatever the secret! Thank you!

I have a 110lb Bernese mountain dog and we use this leash! It’s held up great! We use the lock mechanism when crossing the road which helps! Great size for our dog and even a medium size dog!

This is well built works fine ,the line is thin but very tough, my rambunctious year old dog has tested it`s strength and also line control mechanism many times. I highly recommend it.
