These bulbs work exactly as advertised. The motion sensor is very responsive and turns on right away when needed. Bright enough for outdoor use and the warm light looks nice, not too harsh. Installation was simple and they’ve been reliable so far. I wish they weren't warm color but that was my mistake i didn't read the specifications right.

Works great! Lights detect motion at night, turn on, turn turn off after 5 minutes with no detected motion. Can always leave on full time too but I left it in motion detection mode. 5 yr warranty so will see how long they last. Why I bought these: I have a motion sensing floodlight and its motion sensing capability failed after about 15 years. The light still works fine when powered on/off (but no motion detection works) so I think some of the chips in the light or the sensor handling motion detection failed. Got these two bulbs to quickly fix the issue. I could get a new floodlight for about the same price of these 2 bulbs but I'd have to take down and install the new light, and hope the mounting works for my setup. So to avoid the hassle just bought these lights.

Other kinds of motion detecting floodlights only come with one motion sensor operating both lights. You have to choose just one direction to point them. These lights each have their own sensor. This enabled me to point my existing floodlight fixture 180 degrees opposed from each other, and they light independently. I was a little hesitant to try these, reading another review that says they don't turn on. They don't turn on in daylight, but by design only come on after dark and with motion. I've had 4 of these for about a month now, and they have been great! Now they each come on only as needed. And if I happen to be inside when they come on, I can better tell what direction motion was detected.

We had a motion detector light in our backyard for about 30 years, and about two years ago, the detector part stopped working. A friend who knows electronics offered to hardwire the light socket to the power: screw a bulb in, it’s on; unscrew it, and it’s off. Not a good solution. He suggested we check on “smart” lightbulbs. While looking at those, I noticed these motion detector bulbs. If they can do this, we can use our old lamp and be good to go. One big tip: because our light was now hard-wired, as I screwed this new bulb in, it flickered on and off several times. WHICH INADVERTENTLY TURNS OFF THE MOTION DETECTOR FEATURE. I thought the light was no good as it wouldn’t turn off. Reading the instructions, I figured out what happened. Turned off the circuit breaker for over 3 seconds, returned the motion detector capability, and now all is good. This works as promised.

Great flood light bulb, they come on at night and light up my back yard, even when the wild critters come into range, let’s me know when something is going in my yard, they even save money on my electric bill, I will definitely buy again, thank you Amazon for having them.

Work great, come on when you get within 8 feet of the front door. Lights the area well.

Reading the reviews, and from personal experience. It looks like a % of the bulbs ship faulty. I ordered 2 bulbs, One of the 2 is always on, it never does turn off. What % of the bulbs are faulty, and what % is acceptable?
