Quality
These are my favorite side cutters. Sharp and durable with perfect handles.

Favorite cutters
I’m an electrician so the feel the durability of tools is what I need. These have a great weight to them when in your hand. Larger grips also add a bit of leverage along with comfort. Probably my favorite pair of dykes, side cutters, whatever you want to call them

It’s Wiha…. all you need to know
Pricy but great quality. Very comfortable.

These dikes look like quality.
I only spent a few minutes with this pair of dikes, but they looked and felt good enough for my tool pouch to replace my dull Kleins. They are really great, so far. It matters how quickly they stop making clean cuts, and start chewing/mangling what I asked them to cut.

Great quality
I work around a lot of dust, grease, starch and strong chemicals. Holds up and cuts great still. No issues with the hinge, still gliding like new. Handle is super convenient.

The perfect diagonal cutter
This is my second purchase of this tool. I liked the first one so much got another to carry in my computer bag. While I mainly use them to remove zip ties they have no problem cutting solid or stranded wire up to about 8 gauge. I consider these the perfect size and they fit in my hand remarkably well. The construction is excellent and the insulation is more than ample. Admittedly I am a bit of a Wiha fanboy but for those unfamiliar with the brand I highly recommend these.

Disappointed
I needed to buy a new Wiha cutter after I lost the one I had. All of my insulated pliers are Wiha. I always felt they were top quality metal and build. This new cutter is disappointing. One, the Wiha insulated pliers are no longer German designed and Swiss made. For a few years now I knew their cheaper less quality tool line was made in Vietnam, but it was never the professional line. Certainly not the insulated tools. Well the new ones are now made in Vietnam and it is very noticeable. Second the metal, although strong, is no where near the quality of the old ones. Not the quality you would expect of a professional tool. It more resembles something you can grab from the bucket at the register of HD. The insulated handles were glued on at some point, and do not appear to fit as flush as the Swiss made. There was also excess dried glue on the handles and metal. It's like there is no quality control. Last, but not least, the cost. You are paying a premium for a tool made in Vietnam. It does not make sense. The cost should reflect the quality and build. In this case it does not. For the same price you can get the German made Knipex or NWS. If you don't need an insulated tool you can get 2-3 US made Channellocks. Wiha's suggested retail price is way too high for it's current quality and where it's made. I will not be buying anymore Wiha.
