These will be a good stocking stuffer. The magnet is not super strong, but it does stick to the car without issue.

The media could not be loaded.  I love this thing. I gave my original to my sister (another similar brand). I just got this one and was pleasantly surprised to see it came with 2 complimentary emergency blankets (you can't have too much mylar). I really like this tool over others because of its practical uses. Others can only be used in extreme emergencies. This auto safety tool has a flashlight and a beacon. It makes sense and for the price, why buy all these things separately? Magnetic base is a nice touch too...makes the lights hands-free..great tool.EDIT: I just received an email with an attachment Bonus. The company sent a printable pdf Roadside Safety Guide...WOW! That's service. I've never had a company on Amazon do anything like that before..very impressive.

The product seems ok, basic. All the buttons pushed and turned on when I put in batteries. It seems sturdy enough to hold together when trying to break glass in an emergency when you might not realize how hard you are actually hitting or not be able to see where exactly you are hitting--I hope it is anyway! Hopefully, it wouldn't really need to survive one whack anyway. The directions for which way to put in the batteries is easily readable, and the top just screws off--so no screwdriver is needed. The seals seem tight enough for a quick, unexpected dip in the water, though it does say it is not meant to be immersed--so expect that the lights might not work if your car goes into the water, but if you are swimming against water coming into your car, I expect this might get dropped anyway. There was a chip in the blade on the razor blade that I received. There is a screw that holds the top together, so you can replace the head and razor blade if desired. The other downside of this is that for those of us in the cold north, the batteries (2 AAs) won't last long sitting out in the cold car if you park outside. I don't really expect the lights to work if needed in the wintertime as I'm certainly not going to check them every few days to see if the cold has drained them. I keep a crank flashlight in my car so I never have to worry about batteries. A good emergency crank radio with flashing light, siren, and flashlight might be a better idea. You might have to crank it now and then, but that might be better than having to wonder how long these batteries are going to last if you are in a remote area. I really only bought this for the seat belt cutter and the window breaker. It's also big enough to find in the console in the dark unlike the little one I bought last time.Also, be aware that they put you on their mailing list when you buy this and then keep sending you emails. Very annoying. Just wanting to prepare anyone for that, since they don't tell you they are going to keep sending you things after they send the road safety guide, which I didn't bother with. There is an unsubscribe link, but I knocked off a star for this issue. I buy a lot from Amazon and don't expect to be put on mailing lists. This is one reason why I rarely buy anything from a third party seller.....but this I bought off Amazon Prime! I didn't even buy it directly from SOS. Apparently, it is legal for them to do this, but I consider it bad form to add someone to an email list without asking permission. If their product is good, it should speak for itself. People who love a product tell all their friends about it. If I love a product, I go to their website and sign up. But adding people to an email list without asking just pushes people away.Summary: check the razor blade for nicks, people in cold climates might want to consider something else, and you might want to unsubscribe immediately once you receive the roadside guide if you think you'll be annoyed by getting more emails from them. Otherwise, it seems good enough. It's a great idea of a safety tool, and even comes with some thermal blankets. Our flashlight wouldn't work straight out of the package which we were bummed about. I would have bought another one but they were no longer available so amazon provided us with a refund. Not bad, solid magnet, and bright beacon.

Well designed and lightweight

This is not the first window breaker tool I have purchased. I bought a couple others but ended up giving them to family members. I prefer this one the best so will keep it for myself. My neighbor had a junk car window and we tested it. Broke with one wack! Wow! Glass shattered everywhere. Years ago a friend fell asleep at the wheel and rolled his new car. His seatbelt jammed and was trapped upside down. I keep this tool in my console so I have easy access to it in case of an emergency. Peace of mind. I put the emergency blankets in the glove box. Everyone should get this tool because you just never know.

I got it for my husband as he travels a lot. Kept it in his car. I am planning on getting one for myself

Good quality, multi-function tool. The magnet is strong, the lights are bright, and it easily fits in the glove compartment or middle console. I bought one for each of our vehicles. The cutter is set so that it is nearly impossible for my four year old to accidentally cut herself if she ever got hold of it. It already came in handy when we had engine trouble. The magnet holds nicely to the underside of the hood so we could see what the problem was.
