After discovering bugs crawling on me gathering eggs, immediate action was needed. [READ the entire Review] Tried spraying the roost and all wood with Flea & Tick Shampoo diluted with water; there was some benefit. Removed all the bedding three days later and hosed down all the wood again with the soapy solution. Allowed to dry a few hours and dusted everything with Food Grade DE. Two days later, there were still mites in the door crack and under the roost.. Saw mites on top of the door and sprinkled this Poultry Dust, the red mites started bubbling up like an ant hill. Proceeded to wipe the Pyrethrin Dust on the wood frame door opening and the roost on all sides before using a garden pump duster to make a cloud of dust all over inside the chicken coop and closed the door. Two days later, no mites under the roost or around the door frame doing the glove test. Its important to repeat the treatment every week for a month to eliminate any survivors before a new infestation can be established. Buy this Treated DE Dust because it works, and its affordable to use. The bad reviews (in my opinion) are from people who do not understand pest management. You can always go back to the plain DE powder in your dust bath once your coop and poultry are no longer affected. Pro Tip: If your infestation is bad, an indoor fogger for Bed Bugs has the same chemical for a fast knockdown of mites. This is similar to how mites are treated in Bee Hive equipment with the proper treatment. This is how I understand how fast mites can take over.

I need to knock on wood but I have not had any issues with mites this year since using this product. ( Well not me personally but my flock haha). And the price is cheaper than Tractor Supply.

The can of dust was shipped in a padded enveloped. The can inside was crushed and all of the powder had dumped into the envelope. I immediately ordered a return, and the seller promptly put a new can in the mail... Which arrived in the same condition: padded envelope, crushed, with all of the contents dumped into the envelope (covering other items in the package too! Yikes!) I don't want to cause a hardship on the company, as they allowed me to keep the first can, so I'm not doing a second return, but I do hope they pack in a box from here out. Also, this is working wonders with the fire ant invasion on my property! It takes a few applications, but eventually they're gone!
