Do the batteries charge when plugged into the main electricity?

no unfortunately not, you'll need the standard charger for your batteries

How long would x2 6ah battery's last ?? My main power will be of mains but just curious on battery time is it worth it or just buy a normal non makita

I would guess 12hrs I have 3ah and they last 8hrs keeping everything cold

about 8 to 9 hours its got a very good battery run time in my opinion, but mines usually left in the car on 12v

Does it use a compressor?

I’m not sure mate theirs definitely some sort or motor inside when it’s reaching temp but that’ll shut off and it’ll be quiet Then on…. so far very impressed I keep mine on at -0 it’s perfect of my fuel battery system in the car. Not yet tried it of the makita battery’s but I probably wouldn’t buy one again if I wasn’t planning to use it on battery as the actually tub is not that large make sure you check the specs for how large the tub it because the hole unit it a lot larger eBay do some 20l fridges for half the price
