Chatur (Hindi): - A Hilarious Hindi Childrens book

Love this for teaching kids..!

This is such an adorable story! My son loves it and we love reading it to him

The book is colorful and since it's in English script, it's what I was looking for. However the paper is a little thin. It would have been nice if it was made of something a little more childproof. The Hindi is a little advanced, which might be difficult for kids to understand. Otherwise, I really do like it.

This is a very interesting children's book. The story is about a "dhobi" who uses a lazy donkey to carry his burden. Then the "dhobi" get the bright idea to use an elephant instead of the donkey. All goes well until the elephant creates a mess. The book has pretty illustrations. The story line is sublime and the plot interesting. More importantly it provides a window into rural India, its culture, traditions and customs. This book is a must for people who bringing up their kids outside India but want to give there kids a glimpse into traditional Indian life. the book is easy to read as the English version of the story is provided at the bottom of each page. A must read and i highly recommend this book.

Bright colors and funny illustrations make this such an eye catching book. While the book is written in Hindi the illustrations bring the story to life allowing you to understand and enjoy the story whether you read Hindi or not. Mand doesn't like to work but Atal the elephant doesn't mind at all. so Chatur gets the bright idea to replace Mand with Atal but things don't work out the way Chatur thinks they will! Overall very well done illustrations that captures the eye and imagination and will certainly put a smile on your face as you learn the story of Chatur and his donkey Mand.

The story could have been written in much simpler language. I think I am qualified to say this as a native Hindi speaker especially as this book is supposed to be read to young kids. Good story but my daughter got bored of it pretty quickly.

Rare to find such books written in Hindi! Illustrations and story work in rhythm.
