Less money than Sonos - about equal performance - Some Issues
The system is ridiculous easy to set up. The speakers are first class quality. The sound of the Milan 5.1 Surround is excellent in our TV Room. Best of all is the WiSA technology. The system recognizes the 5 speakers and configures in seconds automatically. It uses a new standard (WiSA) that is quickly being adapted by TV manufacturers and other wireless speaker companies. No WIFI, no BlueTooth; it creates its own 5GHz network and does not interfere with our home WIFI network at 5gHz. The system decodes Dolby and the sound is delivered to the speakers in CD quality, actual a little better by the numbers. I can add up to 7 more speakers in this system such as ATMOS or Rear which I can purchase individually. I am impressed. I've listened to SONOS and they are comparable; the Platin brand systems are just easier.UPDATE: I returned the system. My initial review was based on a set-up in free field conditions with line of site from SoundSense transmitter to speakers. The room was free of Wireless Access Points. Unfortunately, when I moved to the intended final location, where existed one fixed 5GHz Access point 10 feet from the SoundSense issues started. Further, I was forced to locate the SoundSense in a cabinet losing line of sight and the SoundSense then could not communicate reliably with the speakers. Drop outs occurred mainly on Center channel which was most annoying. I moved soundsense to the cabinet door so I could leave it open when watching and listening. This was unsightly, but gave me more or less line of sight to speakers. Unfortunately drop outs still occurred. I still experienced a rolling drop-out when, according to WiSA standard, the transmitter sensed interference and was trying for a clear 5GHz channel for all speakers to use. So I set my five WAPs to channels, which were normally auto switching, to fixed channels outside the DFS bands that are used by SoundSense. This improved things a bit but not totally. The final deciding factor was that my Samsung Frame 65 forced audio to the SoundSense when it was turned on. thus I could not easily turn off the eARC path to return to regular TV speakers if drop outs became too annoying. Finally I will mention that once drop-outs start, they get progressively more frequent during a program. I AM REALLY SORRY THIS DID NOT WORK OUT. It's not Platin' fault. I've read reviews elsewhere on other brands using WiSA standard and they too experience some of the same issues. The WiSA approach is cutting edge now; the standard just needs to evolve a bit more.

Perfect Wireless Surround System
I've tried a number of wireless surround sound systems and this is the only one that lives up to the marketing hype. The speakers are small and attractive but incredibly powerful and setup is absolutely the easiest I've ever used. You simply plug everything in, download the app and use the extremely user friendly GUI on your phone to setup your speakers. It even automatically balances the sound based on how many speakers you plan to use, from 2.1 to 7.1, depending on how many speakers you bought with your system. If you bought 5 speakers and decide to increase to 7, you simply buy the additional speakers and integrate them into your set up.The app enables you to have total control over each speaker's characteristics independently. This system is absolutely a great bargain. The only thing I don't like is that the downward facing sub speaker is exposed and unprotected. Also, connectivity is a little quirky when you try to use the TV controller and speaker controllers at the same time, as it will sometimes disconnect and I'll have to reboot the entire system. The app works OK, although it's easy to get it to lock up. The only reliable way to get it working again is to unplug the power from the transmitter. This only seems to happen if you close the app before the TV.Although you can control the volume from the TV remote control, the app and TV volume controls do not synchronize and they seem to compete for volume control making the sound volume unstable.

Finally found the updated app.
I like the idea of not having any wires. However, I had to use an extention cord for one of the speakers. The QR code to add the app was reversed, the one for Android took it to the Apple app. When I figured that out, when I tried to install the WiSA app, it was too old for my version of Android. I finally found the updated app, but couldn't get the back surround speakers to work. I finally figured out that I had to turn off my VPN so that the controller could recognize them. Once I got those working; I really like that I can control each speaker separately. 4 stars for the sound!

Nice equipment, not loud enough by far.
Well, I can tell you it’s not horrible. Definitely not loud enough. I could still hear the children screaming in the background over top of my surround sound system.

Better than Dolby Atmos & Fully Customizable
I purchased the Platin Milan 5.1 Surround Sound System on September 19, 2023 for $450. I went to NFM, Costco, Sam’s Club and other places looking for an audio system to suit my needs for my Sony Bravia 85 inch TV. I found that any of the soundbar systems did not let me customize the speakers or surround sound to my liking, this includes the newer Dolby Atmos. I installed the Platin Milan system and it was easy to install. Their phone app makes syncing and customizing the speakers easy. The sound is so good when you are watching TV the rear surround speakers will have a distant conversation, or you will hear papers shuffling, or a door close and you can’t help but turn your head to see if there is a really a person there or if it is coming from the speaker. To me, this is the ultimate test if I can’t tell the difference from real sound or reproduced sound. So real, you will need to turn your head to see if it is real or not. I really love this system as it does exactly what I expect surround sound to be. If you do decide to get this, order it with the rear speaker stands. You want your speakers to be as close to ear level and the stands will do exactly that.
