Great pen, decent price will buy it again
I am new to fountain pens, so I wanted to try one that was not very expensive. I got this one, fine nib, it includes a converter, so you can use the ink you want. It writes super smooth, does not scratch or blot the paper. It is a bit heavy but it gives the pen a sort of compact feel that it is nice. Overall a great pen for a decent price. I would totally recomend it.

Poor build quality
This pen never left my desk and was well taken care of but the threaded section from the cap pulled out after about 5 weeks use. The pen writes very nice, but the build quality is poor. Do NOT recommend

Nach Paar Wochen Gebrauch kaputt
Eigentlich Gut. Aber der Füller kratzt am Anfang und später löst sich auch das innen Gewinde im Deckel somit nicht mehr zuzuschrauben

Beautiful, smooth writing fountain pen at a great price.
The first thing I noticed about the Hongdian Navigator fountain pen is how nice it looked. The second thing I noticed was the unusual but interesting texture on the body of the pen. I found myself looking at it as if it were mysterious for some reason. It is chrome on top and a blue material with continuous blue waves in it on bottom. The pen’s clip is unadorned but nicely fits into the rest of the pen design. It’s spring seems just right to me – not too stiff and not too loose. The cap is threaded and takes 2 revolutions to uncap the pen. The threads are very smooth. The cap can be posted but it seems to back-weight the pen too much for my tastes. That is not a concern of mine since I don’t normally post when I write. Unposted the pen is a nice weight and seems balanced in the hand. The grip section is chrome which matches the overall aesthetics of the pen but some may find it a little slick. The pen came equipped with a quality converter for using whatever ink you would like. I got the Fine nib and it wrote beautifully right out of the box with Waterman’s Serenity Blue ink. Very smooth, no adjustment needed. This is a very nice pen and one I’m happy to have join my collection. At under $17.00 this is a bargain.

Body and Section Are Quite Thin
I bought two of these and they have their virtues. For the price they're well made, look good and write well. The nibs put down a fairy wet line that's appropriate for a Western fine. The feed keeps up with fairly fast cursive and they start up without hesitation even after a day or two of sitting with the cap on.However, they are on the thin side as in 11mm for the body and the grip tapers fro 9.2mm to 8mm. For comparison I grabbed and measured one of the Moonman pens that I like and the body on it is 12.8mm and the grip tapers from 11.2mm to 10.1mm. Only a couple millimeters but it makes a big difference especially considering the heavier weight of the Hongdian. If you have small hands you might really like this pen but it's too thin for me.
