Be aware that this thing is super strong and will attach itself to any metal nearby ...
As claimed in the product description the magnet is very strong. I purchased it to help locate studs on the outside of my house (built in early 70s) that has aluminum siding on it. To my surprise I found the nails in the studs very quickly so the magnet did as I had hoped it would.Be aware that this thing is super strong and will attach itself to any metal nearby or draw metallic objects to it from a distance and at a very high speed.I've only used it once for the intended purpose that I stated before so i cant comment on the performance of any other intended uses.Definitely worth the money for the use I needed it for.

Unreal!
I just received the two magnets I ordered. They are SUPER powerful. I unpacked one and holding it on two ends with my fingers I moved it towards my stove top. At around two inches away, BAM! It disappeared from my fingers and attached itself violently to my stove top. I had to slide one end off and even then it was a struggle to remove it.Unless you need a ridiculously strong magnet I suggest getting something weaker and work up to what you need. But, I'm a magnet fan and love it.

A small, strong magnet.
This is a small, strong magnet. Surprisingly strong. I planned to use it to hold things to metal (duh) but it is strong enough that moving it scratches the surface. It's exactly as advertised, so I probably shouldn't have docked one star, but it's not as useful as I hoped.

One Star
shatters very easily.

Very strong magnet. But it is brittle, letting it slam against metal will break it into pieces.

Powerful!
Not a "toy" for young children. Will use this for picking up small "C" clips & pins that always seem to find camouflage on shop floor. A refrigerator magnet it ain't. Let the wife try it on her fridge just after unpacking & she couldn't get it off the fridge. Had to carefully slide it to the edge & pry off. I would not want this near any of today's electronics. Well worth the cost just in recovering dropped small parts.

Don't stick it up your butt, either.
Extremely dangerous. Buy and use at your own risk. I own two of these :DNote: This can injure someone, or cause someone to be injured by sharp and dull objects flying towards it. It is also fragile and can break, shatter, and spark, if allowed to smack another magnet or another chunk of metal too hard. Presently, to keep this thing safe and out of the way. I use them for a variety of tasks, more often than not I simply challenge anyone to try to remove them from the fridge. If you want something that will pull anything metal out of your gravel driveway, just stick this to the end of a metal rod and comb the gravel. I've used them to hold trash cans in place, tire irons, weapons, and as entertainment at parties. If you want to know how dangerous these magnets can be, go on YouTube and search Magnet Vs _________ just pick whatever you want to see the magnet decimate.

Great product.
These are some serious magnets. If you're looking for something powerful, you'll find it in these. Please DO read and HEED warnings in packaging if you are a first timer with these magnets, especially if you are buying more than one. Great product.
