Week 5 - Hair growth slowed down, looks like it will work
I loved how the product is wired, and doesn't need to be charged. The automatic flash feature makes it really easy to use. I am using it on my bikini and venus mound area. I started with every other day and I started with about 10 minutes over the whole bikini area. For the first four weeks, I noticed the hair growing almost immediately the next day and could feel the new hair poking through my underwear. But over the weeks, the growth back slowed down, I almost always shave the day of my own treatment schedule, some days the regrowth was only less than 1cm that I didn't shave. I am Asian and have fair skin with black hair. The zap does hurt more in darker skin area near the pubic area. I know the device would heat up pretty quickly, so I start with the darker areas or more sensitive area before the device heats up. Then the rest is pretty painless, it can get a bit tangy (like rubberband being released to hit the skin) on the second or third round. The instruction doesn't recommend doing multiple rounds, but I haven't been burned too bad on the mound area where I noticed the most regrowth that I tend to do 2-3 rounds on my alternate day schedule. I know other users report that week 6 is when they see real results, I can say at week 5, the regrowth is definitely slowed down but the hair follicle hasn't been stopped. So, I am planning to keep doing my every other day schedule for a few more weeks.I use an aloe vera gel after my treatment to cool off the skin. It isn't really burn or red, but I know the hair follicles were zapped, there is some warmth in sensation and I can smell zapped hair smell that is not too disturbing. And the aloe vera gel was just a soothing moisturizer. You don't really need it but it's recommended to moisturize after each treatment. All in all, I really love this device, it is cheap, easy to use and seems to be able to last for a few more months for me to zap. I will come back to update in a few more weeks to report how "permanent" my hair loss is.

Vs Braun Pro 5
First, it’s important for you to know that I have light thin skin and very dark hair. I purchased this product and had amazing results using it as recommended. Starting with the lowest setting, I increased the strength slowly until I found the setting that was high enough to have an effect AND not be uncomfortable.Within a few weeks, I was familiar and comfortable using this IPL at the higher/highest settings. Sadly, there was a mechanical issue that required a full replacement within a month of using it.I decided to purchase the Braun pro to use while waiting for my replacement IPL. I have heard/read amazing reviews for the Braun IPL, however, these two IPL’s work very different. As an example, you can use whichever hair removal method you desire for the Braun IPL whereas this one requires you to shave the area.Having owned both and sticking to shaving as the method of hair removal, I highly recommend this IPL. Not only is it a fraction of the price but the overall experience was better. This IPL may require more frequent uses (Braun is once a week) but I noticed my hair would not grow back between sessions. With the Braun, I had to shave before using each time as the hair would grow back! After a month of using the Braun IPL, I can say there is little hair coming back but with this particular IPL, I reached this same point from the start! This IPL doesn’t hurt. For some reason, even on the lower settings, the Braun pro hurts…All things being equal, I like that the Braun IPL is less bulky but overall- I would recommend this IPL over the Braun pro 5.I’m new at using IPL’s so I can’t speak on the long term effects. Perhaps Braun is more pricey because the hair will never grow back? I couldn’t say but if you are looking for reliable, ergonomic, inexpensive, quick results and good customer service, buy this one. It’s worth it!

So unpractical
After using this for 7min I knew it had to be sent back ASAP. There is no way to use this without it being plugged in so you can’t charge it and have it cordless. The cord is soooo short it just barely made it from the outlet over my single sink to reach my leg being up on the toilet seat. ( see photos) it is VERY uncomfortable to hold… given the shape you would think you would hold it like a razor but no you have to be able to see the screen so the only way to do so is awkward and uncomfortable. I can’t speak to effective hair removal because it was so uncomfortable to try and use. The instructions were pretty basic and easy to understand but it was like someone that didn’t speak English wrote them…and there were areas that didn’t make sense like the cleaning and care part says “Soak the clean soft cloth with a little water and use it to clean the filter and skin contact surface “. What cloth? It does not come with a cloth?? What the heck is the filter??? The diagram of the machine with labeled parts does not say it has a filter.

Not good at removing hair
This product is horrible at removing hair although I found a second use for it. I use it to eliminate dark circles under the eyes and it helps with acne. It's great at lightning skin and killing bacteria on the face/ body. I even used it to treat athletes feet. Believe it or not it's really great for your feet health.
