Update to my review - from 1 star to 5 stars. The Flood Buzz company has Great customer service. The company itself (actually a member of the owning family) reached out to me and appologized for the outdated product. They offerred to send me replacements for my inconvenience. I have already received my replacements, not outdated, tested, and work fine. I like that they are loud enough for me to hear (even if in basement) but not so loud that they freak out the animals. Great product, price and peace of mind. Thank you Flood Buzz! Original review: It did take a while for my order to arrive. I ordered on January 23, 2024. I received my order on February 6, 2024. When I opened the package, every single one of the "Flood Buzz Water Leak Alarm" had a "Replace by" date of 02/2024. I tested one and it did work, but I doubt they will last the "up to" 3 years the battery life the description states. "INTERNAL BATTERY IS FACTORY INSTALLED AND PRODUCT IS REUSABLE. The internal battery life of the water sensor lasts up to 3 years and the product is reusable" I will be returning with the hopes they will replace with ones that are not outdated. Not able to "replace" via Amazon... only refund. So, that is what I did.

Like most homeowners, we have the occasional water leak inside the house. Our most recent was the AC unit overflowing due to build up in the drain. I just so happened to be awake at two in the morning when I heard the drip, drip on the floor. If I would have been sleeping, I would've awakened to a kitchen/living room full of water. Thats when I decided to purchase these little water leak detectors. Such a great idea! They are tiny so you can place them anywhere and they will be inconspicuous. The alert that the make when exposed to water is just loud enough that you will be able to hear them just about anywhere in the house. They are not as loud as a smoke detector beep but loud enough. The price is great, I plan on purchasing a couple more sets so that I have all of my potential leak areas covered.

These things definitely tell ya if you have water. They work very simply by the 2 metal prongs on the bottom of them, if there is water touching those prongs, they beep and they don't stop until you physically pick them up and remove them from the water (or I guess if the battery runs out, but we haven't had that problem yet.) On 5 occasions now, these things have told us immediately that there was water and saved us from having a massive cleanup. It doesn't take much water at all either, we put them directly on the concrete floor in the utility closet and the moment there was any water, they started sounding, so you don't need to wait until there is a catastrophe amount of water (even a quarter inch of water is a lot, so I like that these basically go off with even the smallest trickle of water.) They are not very loud though, that is my only complaint. We have these in the basement, and if we are upstairs in our bedroom (just one floor above) with our door closed, we cannot hear it going off. We can hear it slightly with the door open though, so I wish that they were just slightly louder. Also, these are very basic, you cannot sync them to an app on your phone or anything, so if there is water when you aren't home, these won't tell you that. Overall, for the cost, these were DEFINITELY worth it!

This is my second time ordering Flood Buzz leak alarms for my home. The alarms are sturdily made and compact, the alarm is loud, there were no "duds" in the two 6-packs I ordered, and they are plainly labeled with a battery expiration date/ replacement date 3 years in the future. My previous 12 Flood Buzz alarms lasted almost a year past their stated expiration date in 2024 (not that I'm advocating pushing your luck like I did, but I tested them regularly). One of the alarms recently alerted me to a leak under my water heater, averting a big mess, and making these well worth the cost. These are not the type of leak alarms that are smart-home-connected, so if you aren't in the house to hear the piercing alarm, they won't work for you. But I am home most of the time, and so they work for me. These are far better than the previous brand I used prior to 2021, which used up 9v batteries rather quickly.

Worked as expected! So glad we had them. We had a leak under the sink and thanks to this little guy we were warned. It could be a little louder but we still heard it. Now I’m comfortable with knowing we’ll be notified if something does leak.

Very convenient for tight spaces and it caught the suds overflow in our washers plumbing bib before there was a disaster

Wasn't sure if these littler buggers (see photo for scale) would do the job over the larger, more expensive and fancy competitors, but as soon as I installed one of them in the bathroom, it started to go off. Turns out there was a very slow leak coming from my toilet where the water line connects to the bottom of the tank. At first when the alarm sounded, which wasn't too jarring but loud enough, I thought it was malfunctioning because I couldn't see any water on the white floor tiles. I was able to make the necessary repairs and it probably saved me before the leak got worse and caused more damage. By the way, installation was a breeze. You just unwrap from the packaging and do the recommended testing of placing it on a damp towel to see if it is working. Then just place them near your sinks, toilets or any water source and hopefully you'll never have to hear the alarm. There is an expiration date which for mine was a little over 3 years. They don't have wi-fi to alert you on your phone, but maybe that's more for those who are away from their property for a long period of time.

My dishwasher started to experience a small leak. This little alarm saved us from a potential nightmare. Our main living area, including our kitchen, is on the upper floor, with the lower level being a large, finished area in a walk-out basement setting. This little alarm sounded and we were able to divert a potential disaster immediately. We now have water alarms set next to every water using device in our home. So, so grateful!!

Work well. Even if slightest bit of water on floor it will sense it. Added peace of mind. Priced right. Fast delivery.

It is now four years after I wrote this first review. The pods have an expiry date - probably because of the battery. We have purchased another set to replace the old ones. They saved our bacon about two weeks ago. The pod we had placed under the kitchen sink activated several times and we found small water leaks. They were easy to clean up and we called a plumber to come and see what was happening. He came and replaced the kitchen tap - which was causing the leak. Without the pod we would never have noticed that small leak. We live on the top floor of a condominium building - an undetected water leak that affected units below would have been tremendously costly. The deductible on the condo for water damage is $25,000!! We will always use these. Thanks I know now that it works really well. I washed the floor and slopped a little water close to the pod. It makes a progressively louder noise. Very well done. It stopped squealing as soon as I removed it from the water. I have them under all sinks, toilet, close to dishwasher and washing machine.

When I first bought the Buzz alarms I thought maybe they wouldn't work so well. Well I sure was surprised to find out it does work and well. The alarm sound is good, it warned me of a flood (actually a puddle) in my basement from heavy rains. Will buy this alarm again.

Works as advertised.... they even shutt off once out of the water... most don't!!
