Perfect for the price
For a $35 shelf this is pretty nice. Obviously it is cheap, flimsy, but that's what you get for this price. I bought 2, one for squishmallows and the other is TBD on use. It's not /hard/ to put together just annoying and tedious, it took me about 45 minutes. It comes with a little wooden mallet that you will want to use, but DO NOT USE IT ON THE METAL POLES DIRECTLY. the poles are super duper weak, you'll crush them with a couple taps. I wouldn't put anything remotely heavy on this either. Overall, depending on what you use it for, I would recommend!

Don't waste your money
I didn't expect a high quality piece from the price but this was easily the worst product I've ever ordered online. The kit comes with a little wooden mallet to pound the metal rods into the plastic frame. The head of the mallet fell off before even touching anything. Luckily I had a small rubber mallet from other projects and I definitely needed it as the metal rods do not fit the holes in the frame. Once you manage to pound them into the frame, the rods warp and crack the plastic frame. The fabric used on the shelves is paper thin and the metal rods all had sharp edges and burs which shredded almost all the fabric just trying to slide it on the rods. Clothing was caught on a few edges as well. Once assembled it's not level or sturdy and will sway if touched at all. The box it came in is more reliable than the entire product.

I like it. But not your typical bookshelf
I like the way it looks. It is very light weight, yet very sturdy. Here are the notes I have for you to make your decision before buying this:1) The shelves are made of four poles with a plastic fabric on top of it. See the attached picture, the fabric can be bent down slightly between the poles. So this is not your typical wood shelf. I was planning to use it for my kid's room, for his toys which are in boxes, which worked out great as you can see in the pictures.2) It does not come with a way to hold it to the wall. And it being a very light weight organizer, you need to be smart with weight-distribution or use an anti-tip furniture strap. For me, I have placed very heavy items at the bottom most shelves. That made it very stable and using the top most shelves for light weight items. But still, if you have kids, make sure to get those anti-tip furniture straps.3) It is time consuming to install and you definitely need one of those sledge hammers to get the job done in time, or else, you will take forever to get the rods into the plastic partitions. It me one hour to install it with a sledge hammer.Having made those comments, I am happy with the purchase and it is serving the purpose I bought it for and a nice change from the classical wooden furniture in the house.

Cheap equals the cheap quality.
The pieces don't stay together and if you move the shelf after construction, its going to fall apart. Mini hammer that was provided broke and flung across my room halfway through so I had to figure out how to put it together the rest of the way. Hammering in the pieces on one side made the other side come undone which was frustrating and once finally put together, tried to move it and some more pieces needed to be put back together. If it stays in place it holds things, but not worth the hassle in my opinion.

Quality at its price. Will hold your book collection. Be prepared to spend time assemblying.
First, this does what you need it to do: provide a space to display your books. This isn't fancy by any means, but it works as a bookshelf plus it has a lot of room. I have a decent sized collection of books (or so I thought) and this holds them all. It is sturdy though I do put all my heavy books at the bottom and lighter books at the top as I don't trust it to tip forward as the whole thing is actually fairly light; all the metal pieces are actually hollow and the border is a cloth of some sort. All in all, if I'm looking for something that is affordable and that works, I'd buy this again. Again, heavy things on bottom, lighter things on top. That being said, expect to spend some time assembling this thing. It does come with small, small, small 'mallet', but you could whack it on a Cheerio and it wouldn't break; seriously, I used my hands and fist over that 'mallet'. And you can't be too rough with the supporting rods as if you smack them with a full-on hammer, they will probably crumple under the pressure. I'd say either use your hands or put something (i.e. a scrap piece of wood) on top to help distribute the force of a hammer strike.

Worth it!!
I love it! It doesn’t come with the foldable storage boxes so you’ll have to buy those but it’s a great storage/ shelving unit. It’s a little difficult to put together, it comes with the mallet you have to align the pieces together and hit them in place. But I am so pleased with it! I bought it to replace my sons plastic organizer dresser. The plastic one had literally collapsed under the weight of his school supplies, books, notebooks, pencil box etc. I found this and am beyond thrilled with it! It’s sturdy and very nice looking. Just remember to balance the weight out, I put his heavier books on the very bottom. This is worth the assembly, I promise!

Don’t bother
It is horrible. I’m trying to make it work, but the flimsiness of the unit is so unstable I don’t know how I could possibly store anything on it. I wanted to use this in my office (I’m a teacher) but this wouldn’t hold a stack of papers. I wasn’t expecting it to hold textbooks but the quality is horrible. Trying to assemble was a nightmare and I was missing parts, too.

Nice little set of shelves.
Overall I gave this 5 stars because I think it's a great value, it's light and sturdy, easy to move around.Although It is fairly time consuming to put together. There are around 75 individual parts to this s it took me about an hour to put it together.3 suggestions to anyone that buys 1 of these,1. assemble it on a hard surface not a carpeted floor.2. use a small hammer to tap the parts together, instead of the little wooden mallet that comes with it, Obviously don't hammer too hard.3 feed the pipes through the fabric pieces before putting the pipes into there sockets.Getting the pipes started in the fabric pieces is tricky, so it's a lot easier to do it before the pipes are put in to place.
