These filters work surprisingly well, especially for the price! They do a fantastic job capturing dust, and I've been pleased with the consistent airflow. Installation is a breeze. I've also heard they're good for smoke, and based on their dust capture, I believe it. They've lasted a good 3 months for me without any problems. My only slight caution, echoing other reviews, is the sizing – they were about 1/2" shorter on the length than expected for me. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but something to measure for. Still, for their effectiveness and value, I'd recommend them.

Aerostar's Packaging & Shipping Practices - These filters were just thrown into a shipping box without any plastic wrap/protective covering over the filters like every other company that I've ever purchased furnace filters from do. Moreover Aerostar did not place any packaging material in the shipping box to protect the filters from damage if the box were to be crushed during shipping. The shipping box was partly torn & open when I received the box from UPS. So, the filters had gotten dusty & had debris on them before I ever opened the box or used the filters. I used a spray duster can to blow dust & debris off of some of the filters, then straitened a filter frame that had been crushed during shipping. It seems like it wouldn't be too much to ask to have clean, undamaged filters arrive in a box when I purchase them. With that complaint out of the way, these filters were better than I expected for the price. Aerostar's MERV 13 filters appear to be sturdy & well put-together.

These actually fit. Be careful of advertised measurements. Measure your opening. I bought a different brand first and it was true to size. Should be great right? Well my filter opening is not a true 18x30x1, so I measured it and these are the right size for my opening. So use your tape measure.
