Swiss Rösti - a staple side dish in Switzerland available in America
I grew up with Rösti - its a staple in Switzerland - really peasant fare, but such fare customarily is quite delicious. It is very hard to make an authentic Swiss Rösti dish from scratch with the ingredients available in the USA, for starters the potatoes here have a sugary aftertaste and contain too much moisture that in turn results often in mush as the grated shreds simply disintegrate. Hence the second best thing to the real thing is Swiss Delice Rösti, made in Bischofszell, Switzerland. The price is fair, considering that when I buy this brand at a local California retailer it costs nearly double. The quantity contained within a bag is enough for 3 adults - that translates into about 200 calories per each person.

Great Product
The Swiss call them Rosti, we call them hash browns. Whatever you call the, they are very good. We were introduced to these when we lived in Singapore and now that we are back living in the USA, we found them on Amazon. When you want fast hash browns for breakfast, these are terrific and 10 times more flavor than frozen hash browns. Add some chopped up bacon and a couple of scrambled eggs and you’ve got a fantastic country breakfast.

Delicious, easy way to have potatoes with your meal.
I like to use Rösti when my potatoes run out in February or March and the summer potatoes haven't come in, yet. Very easy to prepare and store without worry. Although, after burning my hand preparing them according to the instructions, I don't slide them on a plate anymore to turn; I use a spatula to turn them in the pan.

Delicious
Much better than hash browns, but the last 10-pack I ordered came torn and with only 9.

Good stuff!
It's relatively healthy, but best of all when running late it's very easy, on the side of meat or fish, or throw in shrooms, meat, even chopped egg and onion, go to town, it's all good. This is Swiss labourer and farm food, they have it with cheese and a fried egg among other variants...Reminds me of Schweiz, and honestly it's not a bad price!

Maybe if I Grew Up in the Alps...
I'm a big fan of hash brown potatoes, so I gave this product a try. Not bad, but one of those items I would have appreciated more maybe if I had grown-up with the stuff. Very dense/heavy -- more so than oatmeal. Almost like cookie dough. Takes a lot longer than regular hash browns to prepare and needs to be monitored. It's back to regular hash browns for me.

1st order - very good. 2nd order - not good
I love these potatoes from way back when I found them at Ikea. A year ago it occurred to me that I could get these online. First order of a 10 pack and they were all delicious. I re-ordered and the 2nd 10 pack was terrible. So bad I threw away 8 of the ten pack. The individual packaging on the 2nd 10 pack looked suspicious. Packaging on the first 10 pack was smooth and tight. As I emptied the contents it was quite oily and sizzled loudly in the pan. Very different on the 2nd 10 pack. Product came out with no oil, didn't sizzle/pop hardly at all when it hit the pan. I'm trying one more time since I love these potatoes.

I am Swiss and love them
I suppose that being Swiss and having lived in Switzerland for 30 years gives me the right to rate those Rosti (Roesti). So:Very easy to make. Very good.If you close your eyes you might just feel that you are in a chalet in the Swiss Alps, while Heidi is preparing dinner...500 grams will probably be 4 servings as a side dish, 2 servings if you have teenagers with acne and 1 serving if you are in a fraternity.Only good things to say about the product.Would I buy it again: YesWould I recommend to a friend: YesWould I recommend to a foe: Why not
