TecsunB5 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with Digtial Radio and MP3 Player - White

If you want a Bluetooth speaker with thumping bass, look elsewhere (and spend somewhere over $100). This is more like a stereo FM table radio that does so much more.I have been looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker with a decent FM radio for years. I have a few: one is a good radio but it is very small and not stereo, one is stereo and a little bigger but is not a good radio, and one is as large as a boom box but the radio reception is poor.I bought this B5, and then bought another.This is a little big to be considered portable, it is battery powered, but there is no handle, and it’s difficult to handle without activating the controls on the front. But the radio is OK, not great, but OK. I use it primarily as an FM radio. I also use it as a Bluetooth speaker, streaming music from my laptop. In the evening I use it as a soundbar for my TV through the line input (because TV speakers are all so bad). This will also play music from a micro-SD card, or use it as your computer sound system through a USB cable. This thing does it all.It has an adjustment for bass, you can boost the base in three steps, It’s not booming, it’s pleasant. It has small speakers (about two inches in diameter) with a reasonable passive radiator that helps the bass response. The rated output is 5 Watts (2.5 Watts per channel) which is not a lot, but good enough for desktop use. At a volume setting about 20 with the bass set to 2, I perceive good response down to about 60 Hz and good stereo separation due to its wide spaced speakers.This has it’s issues. Bluetooth pairing is sometimes balky. Some voice sources can cause a buzzing sound and I cannot pinpoint the source of this. But overall, this is a versatile device that checks a lot of boxes for just a few Dollars.Like I said, I bought one, then, another.

Reasons I gave this product 5 stars - Features. It has more features than any other BT speaker I've come across for the price. Versatility - fm radio , BT, SD card slot, 3D sound, , and in and out RCA jacks which allows me to hook up other devices. It sounds about as good as any other BT speaker in this price range. Tecsun is also not a new company.. They build excellent Shortwave radio's. I own 2 of their Shortwave radios. I knew this would be a good quality product coming from Tecsun judging by their radio's. Has visual led indicator showing battery life , fm station, BT connectivity . Microphone for hands free phone. I own a blitzwolf BT speaker and that speaker has a little better bass response but is not any where near as versatile. The tecsun is 13 inches wide which gives it a better stereo effect. 3D effect can really spread out sounds. The fm works good and I expected that . It's louder than my Blitzwolf yet it's rated at half the power 5w x 2 . Blitzwolf 10w X2 . Blitzwolf is cleaner at full power. I use my tecsun for sports talk radio using BT through my smartphone and it sounds excellent. I mostly use the Blitzwolf at my computer desk for talking on the phone. Features, versatility and price equals 5 stars. I'm not affiliated with tecsun in any way.
