I should have bought a size larger. However my grandkids stole the show. We have a lot of fun with this product.

It's a very nice looking djembe. I like that it's carved wood design, not painted. For the money, it has a sound you'd expect. I am new to the drum circle and didn't want to have an over powering presence with my next to non existent percussion experience. It does have a good tone, sounds great, and perfect for beginners.

They're built well... I watched a video review where someone had an issue with one and took a chance buying the. They turned out to be just fine and got a lot of bang for my buck. Pun intended.

I don't think I should have spent as much as I did for the drum, but when matched to ones sold at a music store, the price was ok. The artistry is rather crude, body finish average, but the drum head matched well with the wood for tone. I think the quality of the drum head and string tie-downs will last a long time.

Would not recommend nor would I purchase again. I bought two Deco 79 89848 Wood & Leather Djembe Drums and had them shipped directly to the recipients. I was disappointed when I finally got to see and play the Deco 79 89848 Wood & Leather Djembe Drum. The Deco 79 89848 Wood & Leather Djembe Drum is much smaller than it appears in the ad. I expected a handle on the drum and instead received a finger holder for the Djembe. The skin must be horse hide because it is doesn't have much of a resonance and the sound of the drum is flat.
