Great baby shower gift
Baby's dad put this book on the shower registry. Mom at shower was very pleased. Book appeared well made & the science info will be a great start on the little one's education. Paired it with an age-appropriate math book.

Not only for babies
A short time ago, I was asked by a non-scientist friend to explain quantum mechanics. I started with black body radiation. You can guess how that went. The Intro to Physics for Babies is perfect for a discussion of Newton's three laws of motion and his law of gravitation. These may not be obvious. When Newton proposed his law of gravitation, the story is that the Royal Society sent Halley to ask Newton about the law. Halley asked Newton what was the shape of the planetary orbits predicted by Newton's law. This was a trick question since the orbital shapes had been known for a century. Newton responded immediately that the orbits were ellipses. Halley asked for a proof. Newton said that he would get back to Halley. The Intro to Physics for Babies does not present mathematical proofs of the laws of motion and gravitation, but presents experimental evidence illustrated by a puppy and a kitty. The puppy is a good body in motion, while the kitty makes an even better body at rest. The illustrations of the cute puppy and kitty should please any child, or adult. The book does not get into the shape of the planetary orbits, but it does show the Earth going around the Sun, and the Moon going around the Earth. Altogether, the book is a good start at introducing the concept of physical laws.

Too Cute -and Educational too! #Love this book!
This is the CUTEST children's book I've seen in some time, and that's including those meant to be fun, as opposed to #educational as well as fun. The words are simple, straightforward, and easy enough even for me to follow. (Hey. At 17, I was getting a D- in high school physics, so I dropped out after the first quarter. I tried! I swear!) Oddly, I have a great fascination for Physics, despite my failure to *grasp* this subject. The cat and puppy illustrations are so cute - our grandkids will love the book just for that - and maybe with enough repetitions, they'll grasp The Law of Force, The Law of Inertia, the Law of Action and Reaction, and all that good stuff. No equations here. *phew!*I still remember songs from grade school about a force called friction. And centripetal force. Maybe if I'd had this book as a toddler, and parents who could teach basic math, I wouldn't have a daughter who asked how amputees (no fingers) manage to count.LOVE THIS BOOK - highly recommend it!
