Disappointed & NOT FOR ALL WOMEN
This book is confusing. What is confusing is the "window" the doctor writes about for women to take hormones. Second, the doctor writes mostly about taking NON-bioidential hormones, i.e., hormones like Premarin (which is animal abuse as to how it is produced, look it up.)I tried bioidentical hormones about 5 years ago in my 50s and never felt so bad -- I blew up like a balloon. I think I still had enough hormones in me that adding more was very problematic. I am 63 now and last year one day I woke up and felt "old." I had also gained belly fat which is typical in finally hitting menopause. I found a good (woman) doctor who put me back on bios -- estrogen patch, prometrium, compounded testosterone. I finally feel good again. The "window" in his book is about women UNDER 60 taking hormones and he alludes to how dangerous hormones are (causing cancer) for women over 60 and that they should only stay on hormones for 5 years. His recommendations would definitely NOT have worked for me in my 50s as he states in his book. My doctor has a patient WHO IS 86 who takes bio-identical hormones with no problems.I would NOT recommend this book over books written by Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet or the book, The Perimenopause & Menopause Workbook. Vliet's books make the most sense to me. I DO NOT suggest taking this doctor's advice.UPDATE: I MESSAGED THIS DOCTOR ON FACEBOOK AS TO MY CONCERNS ABOUT HIS BOOK AND HE NEVER RESPONDED!

An Important Book for all Perimenopause and Menopausal Women
I truly wish I had been able to read this book 10 years ago, it would have changed my life - my bone density, my well being and my post menopausal health. Dr. Seibel has written a momentous book for women - the best and apparently only resource for understanding hormones and the role hormones play in women's heart, breast, bone and mental well being. Hormone replacement decisions have been and continue to be made by women and their doctors with decades old inaccurate medical information. This is a tragedy for menopausal women of today who are vibrant, healthy, active and focused on making the most of their lives after menopause. Dr. Seibel provides clear explanations and analyses of the anxieties and fears connected to hormone replacement use. His extensive experience and insight provides the basis for the very critical decisions every woman needs to make regarding her health and future after menopause. I urge you to read Dr. Siebel's book. Whatever you decide, you will have invested in knowing the latest and best information in a timely way. I wish I had known during my estrogen window.

Dr. Mache Seibel's unusual discovery mindset has blessed the world with life-saving revelations.
Dr. Mache Seibel's unique combination of MD/Researcher/Author is a blessing for the women of the world who encounter results of his work. He has not allowed a jaded mindset to enter his protocol and, in fact, responded just the opposite. The Estrogen Window has been a topic I bring to my friends and co-workers as 100% seem to believe HRT is cancer-causing. Few know where or why that was determined and are stunned to find out one study produced with faulty controls via an old study combined with mass media has led them astray. Dr. Seibel explains the critical components missing in the widely held belief and relates the danger to one's health in not interpreting the information correctly. Most staggering to me is the importance of estrogen for blood flow and how it can affect the brain deleteriously if too low. If you are experiencing hot flashes, pay attention to repetition as with each experience, overtime the brain is more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease from cumulative oxygen deprivation. Hormone therapy replacement is not meant for a lifetime but will allow an ease into menopause if added in the transition. Crashing into menopause can have worse side affects than HRT. Dr. Seibel's book introduces proper evaluation and application methods that can truly save our lives. If you are perimenopausal, menopausal, or know someone who is, the best move you can make is to read The Estrogen Window!

Excellent book !
Excellent book for really understanding menopause and what exactly happens with hormones . Every doctor should have a copy and be able to explain it to women. I had to figure out my own symptoms and fix with hormone replacement pellets . Shameful lack of knowledge by doctors even gynecologists. If you are a womanIn your 40s or 50s, run don’t walk to get this book while you are still in the window for hormone replacement. Also check out menopause Taylor videos on YouTube !

I think this is a good read for all women so you know what to ...
I am 47 and I am in peri-menopause. I can connect with sooo many of the symptoms already! I think this is a good read for all women so you know what to expect or look for when you enter this stage of life. Educate yourself so that you can make better informed decisions about your body and your long term health. There is a lot of repetition in the beginning of the book, but hang in there. Also have a highlighter ready so you can easily refer back to those things that apply to you.

Nearly WORD FOR WORD the same as The Estrogen Window
If you've read The Estrogen Window: do not buy this one. It's the SAME BOOK. Literally. I wish I had noticed sooner and could return it.

Must read for women!
My counselor recommended this as I considered a hysterectomy, and I'm so grateful she did. There's a ton of information that my doctors hadn't told me. I've told all my friends about the estrogen window. Read it!

Excellent resource
Dr. Seibel is incredibly knowledgeable on the subject of menopause. I was so grateful a friend had introduced me to this book; it’s a fantastic resource filled with well researched information. Dr. Seibel explains in an easily understood manner, what to expect during this stage & most importantly, the crucial roles played by the hormones depleted during these years.Thank you, Dr. Seibel, I refer to my book very often for help!

The menopause
I did read all of this book, but found it stopped at a younger age than I was expecting, and at a different stage. I didn't find the bit that would say: and what happens next? This might have been my inattention.

Read it!!!!!
This is a fantastic book and life changing if you read it properly. People get confused about the ' estrogen window' he talkes about. It is the best time to start HRTs but not the only time. You can take it later but you will loose the full benefits that's all. I started late because my doctor was old school and not up to date. He retired and the new guy was all for it. It was life changing for me even though I was in my mid estrogen window. My mom is in her late 70's and still on Estrogen and doing fantastic too. Her skin, hair, mental alertness is amazing.Whatever all the other books say, which are copies of Marche's knowledge he's the one that put HRT's back on the table! If you qualify definitely get going. Remember, it may take a few trials to find the right dosage for you. I started high and felt great but was getting migraines. They dropped me too low and I was depressed. I was then put in a medium dosage which was perfect and feel like my happy self. Give it time to sort out. The Estrogen/ progesterone patch is the easiest to use if you still have your Uterus.
