AmLactin Intensive Healing Cream

After decades with dry skin, thick callouses and 'chicken skin' (aka hyperkeratosis pillars), I learned about this fabulous lotion in medical school. Hallelujah! Even intermittent use makes my skin so moist and soft. It has helped my hang nails, the chicken skin on my arms and thighs, the thick skin I get on elbows and feet, the dry ragged skin around my nails, and the dry flakey skin on my shins. I even use it on my face at night and it gives this 66yo the skin of a baby when I wake! This powerful lactic acid cream makes excess keratin melt away. I strongly recommend it to my patients, my family and my friends who have any such problems. A few characteristics to be aware of: 1) It smells 'tangy' when applying but that dissipates. 2) I don't use it on my body at bedtime because then I stick to the sheets (except on my face) 3) If you have any breaks in the skin it will sting when applying. That dissipates too. This product is so worth the money. I find I use about one tub per month.

Love this lotion. It's helped my skin in a lot of ways I didn't know I needed it! Bought it for ingrown hairs on my legs that randomly started happening the last few years. My legs were getting wrecked because of the ingrown hair cycle, picking them, scarring and subsequent even more difficult ingrown hairs. This lotion has helped reduce the ingrowns tremendously. The lotion feels a little like I just got out of saltwater, and I don't love that, but the benefits are worth it. And to get around that feeling I use this lotion in a light coat then I'll moisturize with one of my favorite scented lotions over top. Works perfectly! My skin everywhere is so much softer, more hydrated, the tone and texture is more even. I really wish I would have found this sooner. If anyone has an issue with lactic acid there's also other lotions with urea and that works really well too.

I bought this product because I saw someone post it on Reddit as a "cure" for saggy skin due to rapid weight loss. The label makes no such claim, but I saw no harm in taking a random strangers advice off the internet. It's not like it's someone trying to lure me into a panel van with a promise of candy (again). So I bought and added this to my ever growing shelf o' stuff that makes dramatic promises. I've lost over 100 lbs in a bit over a year, so I've got saggy skin at my arms, legs and belly. Arms are my priority because people see them when I wear a t-shirt. Belly is secondary because I see that in the mirror. Legs least important because I hardly look down. Anyway, It's only been a week and I can see improvement in my arms. A lot really. I don't know if it's a permanent thing, or only as long as I use it, but I don't care: I know on T-shirt wearing days I can slather this stuff on and my arms wont make me look like a dried up prune. The Price is fair, a lot cheaper than the other "Quick Fix" stuff, even the stuff that comes from China. It's silky smooth, has not caused me any irritation, and it washes off really easily.

It does the job well, I had flaked skin & it definitely helped. However, smells like ammonia, & in my arms gave me itch & turn red. But my legs are shiny & hydrated.

I bought this after it was recommended by a dermatologist. At first, I just put it in a spot where I had noticed thick, rough skin. After I noticed that the problem skin had sloughed off and the area was smooth, I started using it on an old scar that had turned brown. Over time, it is helping the appearance. It is a great value for money, as it is a pretty big tub of cream and I can use it every night. It is thick and creamy, not a watery lotion. It is easy to use— just a thin coating on the problem area. I’ve started using a small amount wherever I see a skin issue, and it helps as I use it consistently.

This moisturizer is amazing. The past few years I've been noticing the skin on my forearms is changing. Becoming thinner, dryer, flaky and itchy. Since I've started using this my skin is much more supple and resilient, its soft and doesn't look as thin anymore. Its like my forearms are 10 years younger! Although this moisturizer does have an unintentional scent, its not horrible. Its kind of a flat, chemical smell, almost like old almonds or something. And the scent does fade quickly, in 20 minutes the scent is gone. Totally worth it for these results!

I like this product, it's really a 4 star product. I like the tubs because you can get to the bottom and get it all out. BUT, I also really really hate that the container has a fake recycle symbol (no number) with "Reduce Reuse Recycle". Greenwashing. You can't recycle it. I called them--and they had no clue at all. Customer service went off and came back and said yes it's recyclable--as if that meant anything. Dropping it in recycling just means making more work for them to sort it to trash. I asked them to either remove the greenwash labeling or put the correct # in the triangle--she said she'd make a note. So it's only getting three stars from me, and I'm going to switch products.

Have very dry skin and doctor recommended. So far seems to be helping. What I mainly like is it is not greasy and soaks right in so you don't have to worry about your clothes. Another doctor had recommended another brand but it is too greasy to use during the day.

Picked it up 1 day ago and immediately used it and again today and the flaky ashy scaly skin on my legs is gone .. like gone, legs are smooth and its only the start .. can’t wait to see what my legs are like after a few weeks of using this cream. Slight smell but goes away after drying, no irritation so far
