Great Read!
Doing a reread of the series after so long, and seeing I have no review for this book pains me so here we go:The first time I read this book, I rated it 3 stars and disliked it. Maybe it was due to being new on the mafia romance train, and coming off of Luca and Aria’s story, this one felt like a let-down. Maybe cause second marriages in romance isn’t a trope I like. Given that so many people enjoyed their story, I always felt like I was missing something, and with the recent sequel from them, they clearly have more to show.Again, that was my first read. My second read, years later when I’m more appreciative, has shown me how great this book is! Young Valentina, widowed after the death of her gay husband goes into her new marriage to Dante as fresh as her first one. Given the death of his first-wife, he doesn’t take to a new wife easily. Dante is the definition of cold and emotionless. He says he cares, but shows it in very little ways. I admire Valentina for putting up with it for so long. I feel like I would be Gianna and just would have fought him for affection at every turn. While the book ends on an HEA, I do look forward to the next one because I can see how much story they still have. This ended with the “I will be better”, so now let’s see him be better!

GO, VALENTINA!
I love this series and the stories never disappoint, they keep being thrilling and surprising, Cora is genius.I experienced a lot of tension in this book and it had a really crazy twist near the end which made the reading extra interesting. This is the story of Dante, the Capo of the Chicago Outfit, and Valentina. They are both widowers when they marry. They have an awkward and rocky start and it killed me to see how Dante seemed not to care but we have a resilient Valentina here who continues to work through all the obstacles.I loved Valentina's determination to keep trying and win over Dante and her loyalty was admirable. I felt for her the entire book, she really struggled and that was quite angsty but she wanted to make a better life for herself and was madly determined and I liked that a lot.The intimate scenes between them were insanely HOT and I looooooved how their relationship grew and we can finally see the deep bond they end up forming.

4,5 Duty stars
4,5 Duty stars“Maybe I couldn’t make Dante forget his first wife, and I didn’t want to, but I could help him move on.”Oh my goodness. I absolutely LOVED this book. As much as I love Aria and Luca, I have to admit that my heart belongs to Valentina and Dante. They are hands down my favourite couple so far. The chemistry is insane and scorching hot despite Dante's coldness. I have no words. I am IN LOVE.I am truly addicted to this series. I hope we'll get to see Dante and Valentina much more in the future. There's still so much more to know about these two. I've read this book at least 3 times already and I never get tired of it. Ugh, I miss them so much already.I highly, highly recommend this book AND this series.

Dante and Valentina 3>
Oh Dante and Valentina... My favorite book from this series.... Both widowed they have for duty to marry. Dante Cavallaro is the Chicago Outfit boss and Valentina is going to be his wife. Dante is know as being a cold fish, always calm and capable to hold his feelings. Valentina is strong, stubborn and although she knows that her second marriage was for duty she wants to make the best of it and is a hopeless romantic. The beginning of their marriage is turbulent, they both have different expectations. Valentina wants a real marriage this second time around and everything that goes with it. Dante still not over his first love, sees Valentina as a wife and don't want nothing more. Life happens, sometimes things you were not expecting but you go with it and maybe its for the best? One things about Valentina, she's stubborn and i think it was necessary and perfect for Dante.
