This is my first air fryer and I wanted a large unit since I tend to prepare large batches of food. I've had it a few months and it has worked fine overall. A few comments so far:1) The touch pad display could be improved. It's not intuitive and beeps loudly at you. The display turns off / resets quickly so you don't have time to ponder the myriad of options. You hit the power button to begin cooking instead of having dedicated start/cancel buttons. You'll get used to it after the first few times you curse at it, although I still wonder who thought this was a good design.2) The air fryer only goes to 400 degrees. It would be nice if it went to 450 for a few things I've tried.3) Cleaning is pretty easy as it's mostly a wipe down affair. I've read that the fan area can get dirty with grease but there is no obvious or easy way to clean that area. After cooking, I tend to bring the slide out drawer to the sink for cleaning. The tray where your food rests lifts out of the drawer easily, but beware - the tray has 4 rubber feet that can detach while scrubbing and be lost down the disposal. I suspect the guy who designed the touchpad UI is the same guy who thought the detachable rubber feet were a great idea! LolI tend to cook meals in advance and I'm mostly a carnivore so I want to be able to cook a lot a once. I can only fit three Costco frozen burger patties in the tray, or two steaks. I find this air fryer convenient for last-minute meals or when the weather is bad and using the outdoor grill would be a hassle. I like that I can drop a frozen steak or beef patties in the air fryer when I forget to thaw ahead of time.The unit has not had any performance issues, is reasonably quiet and cooks well. There is no halfway timer, so if you want to stop the air fryer and flip your food, you will need a separate timer to remind you. When you pull the drawer out to flip your food, the air fryer pauses immediately. After flipping, you just slide the drawer back in and the air fryer picks up where it left off. I recommend pulling the unit away from the wall when you are cooking because it does blast out heat in the rear. I have standard depth counter tops and have plenty of room to bring the unit forward when cooking.Happy cooking!

Easy to use and clean.

This is big enough for a 4-5 lb chicken. Anything larger than 5 lbs will probably be too close to the heating element. Makes the absolute most beautiful roast (or air fried) chicken. Gorgeous color, crispy skin, juicy and tender meat. The Ultrean is also super easy to clean. Let it cool completely, and wipe with paper towels. Then just handwash with a little dawn and water, rinse and dry. That's it. There is nothing to scrub. Also, if you put a bit of aluminum foil underneath the removable grid/plate thing at the bottom of the fryer, you might be able to get away with no cleaning....just remove the aluminum foil and you are done.Here is my recipe: The night BEFORE you want to eat this, take a 4 lb chicken, and wash it really well. Dry it with lots of paper towels, Take your hand and work it under the skin to separate the skin from the meat. Do it on the breast and back side and try to get into the legs if you have small hands. Don't tear the skin! Mix 1 tsp baking POWDER ( make sure it is POWDER and not soda), with 3 tsp kosher salt. Sprinkle all over the chicken (which you have patted dry). Massage this into the bird. Sprinkle black pepper all over the bird. Put the bird on a cookie sheet and stick it in the refrigerator UNCOVERED for at least 24 hours. This dries the skin and dry brines the bird (that's what you are doing with the baking powder/kosher salt mix). Then two hours before you want to start air frying, take the bird out and get the chill out. Make a seasoning of thyme, dry mustard, sage, onion powder, garlic powder (I just use 1/4 tsp of each). After the bird has sat for 2 hours, brush the entire bird with olive oil, then sprinkle the seasoning mix all over. Place BREAST SIDE DOWN in the Ultrean 8 qt air fryer and air fry at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes. Then flip it so it is breast side up and air fry at 350 for another 20 minutes or so or until internal temp is 165. Let rest for about 15 minutes. Carve and serve with mashed potatoes and gravy!I also made air fried chicken tenders (marinated in mayo, garlic and dijon mustard, then coated with panko and reg bread crumbs, parm cheese, salt and pepper, 400 degrees for about 5 minutes each side), air fried salmon (400 for 12 minutes) and also air fried roast pork - I used country ribs (380 for 13 minutes, then flip and another 6 minutes). Everything came out perfectly yummy but the air fried chicken was the best!

Loved it when we first bought it…but within 18 months it no longer shuts off when u take the tray out. All the buttons don’t work anymore so you have to guess where it was.Love the capacity but disappointed that it barely worksUPDATE:Company contacted me after posting my review and worked through the issues the air fryer was having. Ultimately they sent me a new air fryer to replace the one that was not working correctly. Not only do I love having my air fryer back, but am very thrilled that even after the amount of time that had passed from my purchase date, they replaced my air fryer that was not working as it should have. Customer service goes a long with me and I was impressed!Thanks for the replacement, I have used it several times now and works as expected!!

I was looking for a large air fryer and this definitely did not disappoint! It can fit an entire roast or chicken and cooks really well. The digital display is also very easy to use. Overall really happy with this and it was a great value for the price.

Worked great, used daily. Purchase Dec 28th, and died March 22nd. This is the 2nd ultrean that has broken, at least the last one lasted a yearUpdated: replacement received. Took about 2 weeks, fairly smooth process to claim under the warranty. Hopefully it lasts.

I really wanted to love this Air fryer the design was good, but it quit working after two days and the seller actually reached out to me and offered me a replacement which arrived promptly in good condition so far so good am enjoying my air fryer the customer service is one of a kind. 5 stars for the resolution.
