Whereas the majority of his letters are dry and businesslike, his sonnets and drawings reveal the inner man of deep passion and sensitivity. One look at his drawing of Leda (a study for the lost painting “Leda and the Swan”) will take your breath away.

A compilations of of a large number of Michelangelo's poetry alongside drawings and biographical notes and information. A delightful, informational publication that I will treasure. An unusual value.

Beautifully designed book. I only wish we had a parallel Italian text, at leaston some of the writings.

This isn't Michelangelo's notebooks (there aren't any), but a collation of letters and poems that mirror his life--as such, it is an excellent volume. It's an unique volume to be valued by any student of the subject.
