ADDENDUM TO INITIAL REVIEW. Can I give it a 6?? After a month or so, another review caught my attention, so I bought the controller for this series of lights (direct from SonoFarm). Still wishing documentation was less sparse, but operation becomes intuitive in short order. You can emulate natural light schedules with hourly power levels programmed. Allows accessing the spectral control supported in the driver. Think I need to buy a 2nd light to future-proof my growing environment before prices jump or IC shortages restrict supply. The controller supports two separate programable zones (Auto/Fem), and each support daisy-chain control of additional lights (well, it is a commercial product).ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS: As a quality engineer, often working issues inside Chinese factories, I'm pretty impressed with this product. This light shows it's quality in the design and finish. Backed with a 5 yr warranty when you register, it's hard to beat for the price. Heat output is so low it don't even need to point a fan at the driver (also massive). The output adjustment external to the driver is a god-send. This light is heavy (a helper is good) and comes with 4 hulk-ish ratchet hangers with big (1/4" thick) cords, which are needed to hang this beast. The hanger brackets are easily installed, once you understand the method -squeeze the spring legs together first and drop in the body slots. Literally fills my 5x5 tent except for a 7" gap from the walls. Last year I ran 12 aqua-pots in that space under 3 SF2000's (total ~750W) and they yielded well, but the trouble of setup, cords, adjustments, and flipping 3 driver units up to adjust output through the grow won't be missed. I haven't use my PAR meter to check this light, or the efficiency, and probably won't since it will max out at 686W with similar emission to my other lights that run higher wattage. Put the back of your hand, equidistant, under any of your lights, for a quick check when you don't feel like breaking out a meter (ya, I know, IR heating - partial spectrum, et. al.). The emitter (LED) distribution is superior to anything else I have for a 5 x 5, so I'm expecting a great harvest with no sun bleaching this year. Not sure I could ever use the industrial controller available for this light, but would like to know more about it if it has programmable dimming capability. SONOFARM - keep doing what you're doing (and if your instruction sheet was a little bigger or referenced a webpage with large sequential steps that would be totally awesome)!!

This is the light you want for 4x4 - 5x5 flower footprint in a bedroom tent. Extremely Bright!! You will need eye protection. Runs cool, even on 100% for the full 12 hours as I don’t use the controller. Most home gardeners looking for their first “big light” do not account for the climate control required to run a big light full send the last couple few weeks when it matters the most. No need to a ton of serious climate control (noise) to maintain a stable environment for homeowners. Also minimizes unnecessary stress your homes HVAC system during the summer. Spectrum and par charts are from 3rd party testing. I waited until I had completed a full flower cycle with this light, dry, cure, and thoroughly enjoy the results before writing this review. I did add UVA accessory bars to my set up made with 2 of these MAXX 8’s in a 5x9 tent in my bedroom. This is my legal personal medicinal grow and NFSOT.

These are by far the best lights I've had. I upgraded my marshydro ts 3000's with these. The mars was a good light for a 3*3 flower, not the 4*4 advertised. I hung up my new sonofarms today and the difference is incredible, my light meter reads a 5*5 flower area and the light is noticeably brighter.I'd been looking to upgrade and lights similar to this are nearly double the price. Shipping was fast and well done, the seller included a note in the package telling me about the company, and everything needed was included, right down to large diameter paracord hangers with metal ratchets.The light just folds open, the driver installs on top with a bracket and thumb screws, or there are hangers for it to get the heat away if that's your preference.It was a great surprise to have these surpass my expectations. I'll be ordering more as soon as I can!

I love this light. It produces little to no heat. My plants has responded to to it very well in flowering. This light works so well in my 6ft,X 12ft tent. This light is Super bright with the 5 year warranty. It is worth it versus paying over a grand. I'll will be buying another one soon.

So far so good a little much more than what I wanted to pay but it's a pretty big light,sucks that it doesnt come with the option of 220v power cord..

I have 2 of these now and I'm very happy. It's a well built tool, unlike many competitors dinky lights. It tests higher par than advertised if my cell phone app is to be trusted. 5 year warranty as well. The uv and far red really makes flowers shine. I recommend sonofarm to my friends regularly!

After having bought 8 of these lights I have warranted 2 of them with no issues. I’ve been in contact with sonofarm to warrantee the other 6 due to about half the LED’s not working, but havnt seen them yet

Best led light fixture I’ve owned! Not only dose SonoFarm provide a five year warranty with the light fixture but they also provide a great customer service. I recently purchased 6 of these lights with a very great deal that none of my local hydroponic stores could beat. They also included a free master controller for the lights which I thought was amazing. I would 100% recommend this led bar to anyone who wants a great end result with their product :)
