Has a good hold
This worked well holding down my seasonal rug in my kitchen. I put one strip on each end and that was enough to keep it there for about few months. It didn’t start to come up at all or anything and when I did go to remove it, it was easy to pull up and off of the rug itself

EXTREMELY strong adhesive
So I’m giving this 5 stars because it does what it says it does (maybe a bit too well). This stuff is so strong. I don’t know that it is intended for how I used it. I taped a rug down on top of high traffic area carpet. Some edges of the rug came up quite nice. Other areas…yikes. I had to get scissors to assist in removing it from the carpet. I’m not too concerned because eventually the carpet will be replaced, but let me tell you, if you tape a rug down onto carpet…that rug isn’t sliding anywhere.

Good for attaching rug to rug pad and keeping combo in place
First: For all those without rubber-backed rug pads, invest in some! They will make your rugs so much more cushiony and will help with slippage, though for high-traffic-area runners and other small area rugs, you also need the tape, hence this review. My smaller oriental rugs were sliding on their rug pads and needing to be realigned and straightened on a daily basis, driving me crazy. I did not want to stick anything to my hardwood floor, so I stuck two opposite corners of each rug onto the rug pad, putting the tape on the rug pad and then peeling off the backing to stick to the rug. (Turn carpet over and rug pad face down on the carpet aligned as you want it, roll/peel back corner of pad, apply tape, remove backing from the tape, lay back down onto carpet with bottom of pad up, flip over and smooth rug corners). While some of my smaller ones in the highest traffic areas still move a bit (photos), now the entire thing moves instead of the pad peeking out. The new weight of the rug attached to the pad really helps to keep them mostly in place, and much easier to readjust since the pad and rug are now lined up as I like and are straightened together.Four stars because as some reviews have noted, this tape is very sticky and challenging to get off of the roll and to remove the backing. They can also gum up your scissors. I found using Goo Gone on the scissor blades allowed me to cut tape cleanly, but before trying that I wasted some of the tape that got stuck to itself and/or to me. If I bought again I might get the precut strips that appear to have easier-to-peel backing, but for the price and with Goo Gone already in the house, I am happy with the roll of tape. Have done seven carpets and still have tape left over in case I want to do some of my larger rugs, but since they are so big, they don't really need it.Note: my rugs almost all came from the same carpet store and when they were purchased, rug pads were cut to fit them (and I believe thrown it at no cost). The pads have a soft, felt-like top and a rubberized bottom. So needed under Middle Eastern/Asian woven carpets and highly, highly recommended.

Handles heavy traffic with large dogs.
Holds our rugs in place very well 3 very large dogs run up and down my halls, dogs wrestling on the living room rug and rugs do not move. Best results would recommend only using on a clean floor. Worth the money.

Great Flooring Tape
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This tape was perfect for securing some rugs in the hallway and kitchen floor. The tape adhered safely to hardwood floors.

VERY sticky. Maybe too much so.
I put this down under a rug and it sticks well. I've yet to see how long it will last or how easily it can be removed. However, I expected more of a woven texture. The pictures are a little deceiving as it's more like a flat piece of tape.I mentioned that it sticks well. In fact, it is so sticky that it pulled off the veneer on my desk that it was sitting on.... I was NOT pleased with that.

Only carpet tape that works for us!
We’ve tried multiple carpet tapes to keep our rugs from moving but this one seems to be the best. The grip and hold is strong but easy to remove from the floor once you change your rugs. It sits flush with the floor so you dont have an ugly tape appearance. No odd smell. Functions great!
