Reuable note book
I was leaning to use the 7mil paper, but I wasn't sure how this would work for my needs. I decided to go with the 4 mil for experimenting and not waste more money if it didn't work out. 4 mil is quite sturdy, and 7 mil would be over kill. I can see how 10 mil is used for business cards.Anyways, so I'm getting tired of wasting or storing paper so I decided to go with a reuable note book. The idea was completely jacked from RocketBook. They said they used a synthetic paper, so I typed that in to Amazon, and TerraSlate came up. I got some of those FriXion ink pens from Pilot, and it works really well (you do have to wait a few seconds for the ink to dry, so it doesn't smear). The laser printed lined paper is water proof, and so it doesn't degrade with moist wiping. Saved myself about $20. I use the discbound notebooks (Arc/TUL/whatever), and I have to say I'm quite pleased.Keep in mind that you can use sharpies on these, and they will clean completely with alcohol, but it does strip the paper of its "paper-like coating", so it's just a plastic sheet. Also, dry erase markers behave the same as sharpies, I think that coating absorbs the ink. Haven't tried wet erase.

This paper works perfectly; very high quality text and images, extremely waterproof and durable
I used this to print out checklists and quick reference info for sailing in the Pacific Northwest, where it rains almost every day. I used a Xerox color laser printer and printed on both sides of each sheet. Every sheet came out perfectly. No jams, no melting, no curling, no running, no smearing. Vivid colors, clear text, even with small font sizes (6 point). As a test, I dunked one of them in water and held it there for tens of seconds, then pulled it out and tried to smudge the toner and tear the paper. The water just dripped off. No toner smudges whatsoever. Where I tried to tear the paper, it just sort of "dented" slightly. The one-star reviews (and some of the 3-star reviews) are from people who tried to use an inkjet, which the instructions clearly state is not supported. One person complained that the paper is not useful for painting ink on, which is clearly not the intended use case for this paper; it's meant for making waterproof durable laser printouts (or xerographic copies -- which I haven't tried). It's literally in the name of the product: "...Waterproof laser printer..." I wish Amazon provided a downvote button to indicate that those reviews are useless for assessing the utility of this product. Those reviews do serve to inform buyers to follow instructions though.Discovering this stuff makes me want to concoct more reasons to print waterproof documents.I'm curious to know how this compares with either Rite in the Rain paper (which is less expensive).

prints beautiful images
Loved this paper for printing photos and then imbedding them into epoxy resin for magnets without needing to seal them first. it won't soak up the resin like other papers do (sometimes even when sealed). That said, this paper was a little light weight for my project as it had a tendency to curl so I had to stack some books on top before I could use them but the curl was stubborn and eventually came back. Undeterred, I went to their website and discovered that you can buy a sample pack for $7 (and it arrives quick) which included a few sheets of 5, 8, 10 and 14 mil samples. From there I was quickly able to determine that 8 or 10 mil was a better option for my projects. 14mil wouldn't run thru my printer without jamming. There was still a slight curl but flattened out under a couple of books for a few hours and stayed flat.

Actually get excited about paper-fantastic
Second time that I've bought this product. TerraSlate is fantastic. Laser prints just as easily as regular paper. Looks great. I've used it for business as posters on my car! Used special car tape. Even when one was flapping on the highway, it stood up. Have had them in both 0 degree temps with snow and ice to hot weather and lots of rain. Yet easy to cut with scissors if you need to do that. When I had a cat missing for 8 1/2 weeks, I quickly learned cardboard, tape and paper posters did not hold up and eventually changed them to TerraSlate. These held up. BTW, my cat Piper was found almost 2 miles away and fortunately went into a live trap so I could bring her home safely. She had lost 4 lbs and was near starvation. Now is doing fantastic. So glad I went all out to find her, lots and lots of posters. Used 4 TerraSlate papers to make one poster so I could make the pictures and words larger than I could with one page.

Awesome Map Paper
Perfect print quality. I use this paper to print detailed topo maps for backcountry adventures. The result (assuming you use a color laser printer) is a high quality, waterproof, non-smearing map that I can write on. The paper doesn’t fold as neatly as wood pulp paper, but it is super tough and rip-proof—you can stuff it anywhere and it comes out fine. I highly recommend if you want custom maps for adventures of any sort.

Prints clear and has held up outside for 6 months and still looks great
I printed some information signs on this paper and used a spray adhesive to mount them to a corrugated plastic "election type" sign. It has been outside for 2+ months during winter rain, snow and sunshine. It has not faded or smeared and still looks great. The graphics I used included bright blue and black and it was printed with a color copier. I put this paper throught the bypass feed without any problem. This lets me make inexpensive and easy custom signs for very low cost. They are perfect for advertising special events. I don't count on the signs using this paper will last forever, but I do expect it to last as long as typical vinyl lettering would and it looks better and is much faster and neater.

Exactly as expected
We use this paper at work for taking notes in corn test plots. Taking notes in the morning when there is dew on the leaves can be particularly difficult because paper gets soggy and some water proof papers smudge as the leaves rub on them. With this paper there are no worries as long as you use the correct type of pen. The ones we like to use are the UNIball Power Tank RT. I did a test one time and was able to write on this paper while running it under the sink with no smudges using the aforementioned pen.
