Learn Nahuatl, Language of the Aztecs and Modern Nahuas: Second Edition Paperback – February 2, 2021

I love the practice questions and the organization. My boyfriend has been practicing and picking up the language quickly.

Currently studying Chapter 3 (Noun Possession).I have come to realize English is harder to learn than Nahuatl.Workbook is simple and gives the basics to get started.It’s up to me to keep reviewing and practicing what I’ve learned.

This is a grammar book on Huasteca Nahuatl. It's easy to understand. Has vocabulary, many charts, and exercises with answers. There's a Nahuatl only glossary at the end of the book.

A great primer for a highly underrated language. Finding quality material in English for learning Huastecan Nahuatl (or Classical Nahuatl for that matter) is extremely difficult, and this book is certainly a great addition to that list. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn this beautiful language.

Great book

This book is absolutely amazing and improves on the original in every way possible! I cannot recommend it enough, it's absolutely a must for any Nahuatl learners out there. The usage of the INALI spelling made me happier than I can describe, Yan García never disappoints!

Great introduction to Nahautl by an excellent author and teacher!

I've been learning Huasteca and also Classical Nahuatl intensively for almost three years now and I have used pretty much every resource that is available. There is no doubt in my mind that Yan's book is the absolute best. Here are the reasons why:1. Yan writes in a very reader-friendly way that is virtually impossible to find elsewhere because most Nahuatl resources are written for linguists which means they are full of jargon (imperative, optative, vocative, imperfect, pluperfect, vetitive) that the general reader would have to learn first which is no easy task.2. I find myself constantly impressed by how exhaustive this book is; literally everything you need to know about the Huasteca Nahuatl variant can be found in this book.3. Although this book is focused on the Huasteca Nahuatl variant, Yan does an excellent job of explaining how words, phrases, and rules change when dealing with classical Nahuatl and central variants.4. Yan provides plenty of practice so that you can internalize each lesson.5. Yan also has a couple youtube channels that you can use as a companion to the book, especially if you want to hear how the words in the books are pronounced.6. Lastly, Yan learned Nahuatl through immersion directly from Nahuatl speakers living in Indigenous communities therefore the information he provides is extremely accurate.
