Bretty good book but quite small.But there is very good and clear colourfull and black and white pictures I recommend this book for to ww2 militaria collectors

Great reference book on Gebirgsjaeger unis, equipment, weapons, gear. Many color pics. Many close up photos. Very nice book. I recommend for any collector of Gjaeger unis or equipment.

This title deals mostly with the uniforms of the German WW2 mountain troops. And I feel it does so very well. But weapons are almost not treated at all. However, badges of rank and special Mountain Insignia are shown to good effect.The book is split in three parts. The first part shows uniform pieces of all sorts, and the second part deals with the uniforms of certain individuals and those individuals. This gives the book a very personal touch.The final part deals with protective clothing, equipment and miscellaneous items.As for the uniform pieces the approach is to work from the head down. The first chapter is on headwear, describing officers service caps and other ranks mountain caps (Bergmützen). Next is a chapter about tunics. This deals with field tunics, parade tunics, tropical ones and hot weather ones. All sorts are shown (the early, middle and late war variants).Next up are the edelweiss sleeve badges, shoulderboards and then the trousers (from General's trousers to enlisted men's).The second part of the book describes eight individuals' uniforms, plus gives background about these men. Reading about their backgrounds to me brings the illustrations to life. Mr Krawczyk enhanced this effect by adding illustrations of personal belongings and wartime photo's of the men in question. In one case he also included a recent photo of a survivor!The final chapters deal with protective clothing (mountain shoes, wind jackets and snow camouflage clothing), equipment (ski's, climbing equipment, rucksack, sleeping bag, gloves, snowgoggles) and miscellaneous itmes (e.g. a regimental flag).In all I feel the subject is well covered, though weapons and personal gear (breadbag, canteen, bayonet, ammo pouches etc.) are missing. What is in there however for me is good enough to warrant five stars as I'm sure anyone interested in WW2 German Mountain Troops will find this title very interesting indeed!

Fast delivery, This book has some good pictures and is a very interesting read. I would highly recommend it if you have an interest.

per chi vuole avere una panoramica sul tema trattato consiglio questo libro in quanto è ben fatto ed affronta in modo giusto la tematica non andando troppo nel dettaglio ma comunque dando parecchie risposte alle domande di chi si avvicina a questo argomento, belle le foto contenute, di buona fattura le pagine la copertina e la rilegatura.

Libro di ottima fattura, dettagliato ed interessante nei contenuti.Consigliato ai collezionisti ed interessati del settore.

Un excellent livre sur les soldats allemand gerbirgsjager, tés belle photos, dommage qu'il ne soit pas en français,mais reste quand meme une bonne documentation sur le sujet
