Very impressive - highly recommended!
I purchased this for my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins 5.9 24 valve motor. My truck is completely stock and only has 89,900 miles. I noticed that the stock vibration damper was wobbling and the owner's manual states it should be checked every 30,000 miles so I decided to replace it with this one.The package arrived and the damper was very well packaged with it's 'Made in the U.S.A.' proudly displayed on the box. The damper is very high quality and manufactured very well. Installation was pretty straight forward for my truck. I didn't need to remove the fan or shroud. I just released the belt from the tensioner pulley, took the access cover off the bottom of my automatic transmission, wedged a bar between the flex plate and torque converter, removed the 4 bolts holding the stock damper, and then pulled it right off. I then put anti-seize on the crankshaft, slid the new damper on, put anti-seize on the new bolts I had purchased separately and installed them, torqued them to 92 ft. Lbs., removed the bar from the torque converter and reinstalled the access cover (3 tiny screws), and put the belt back on.I had to call Fluidampr for 1 tech support question (whether I needed new bolts or not for install) and I must say - they were awesome. The receptionist I spoke with was very friendly and then she transferred me to the gentleman in tech support and he was nothing but polite and helpful. It's also very refreshing in this day to have an actual person answer the phone rather than a computer with voice prompts. When I started the truck I immediately noticed that it idles a bit smoother, but you really notice the difference when driving it and accelerating or pulling at higher RPMs. I also noticed a difference when shutting down the engine. It cuts off nice and smooth now. I have no doubt that this damper will last for the life of my truck and will protect the engine from excessive vibration.Knowing what I know now I would definitely suggest this product to anyone with a diesel truck like mine. It's well worth the money and makes driving my truck much nicer.

Quality Damper
After running a stock damper for 323,000 miles, it was evident that vibration was taking a toll on a number of engine accessories (Transmission heat exchanger, rigid lines...). Although not cheap, I felt this damper would probably save money in the long run by sparing stress on the crank, valve train, engine accessories, etc. After installing, the vibration at idle was noticeably lessened. Idle sound also seems reduced a bit. Driving vibration seems to be lower, also, but not as much as at idle. Overall, I am happy with this damper. I recommend it if you plan on running your cummins for the "long haul".
