Magnadyne RVTV-W2 Omni-Directional Amplified TV/AM/FM Antenna and Distribution Plate White

This took a little longer to install than I thought it would, but mostly because I was replacing an old crank up antenna and had to figure out the best way to get to the cable from the old one, to attach it to the new one. I had to entirely remove the old antenna and fabricate a patch to the roof to cover it and then mount the new antenna over the patch. It does seem to pick up quite a few stations, depending on what's available where you are camped, and it's nice to not have to rotate the antenna to try to get the best signal.

Easy switch out and use your existing wiring. Amazing. Get one. Replace the Winegard crank up. No more forgetting to lower it.

Antenna would not clip down onto mount. Trying any harder to get the 3 tabs to lock in would have probably broken the antenna. Simply used an adhesive to attach it securely to the mount. Could possibly be because it was in the 60's, making the plastic stiffer but the tab slots should be longer to allow for more give when clipping the unit to the mount.

After knocking one off my camper at a Burger King drive through, (I'm new at this RV thing but still embarrassed), I found this to be the least expensive product that had the same appearance. Installed in less than an hour after wrapping the bottom with an adhesive sealant. I went from nothing to an amazing amount of HD channels! This device works great!! I gave it 4 stars for value only because I think the whole product line is overpriced. This was the least expensive and really pulls in the channels!

Works better than the one install at factory

It took me about an hour to install. My TV reception is perfect. I live 30 mi from New York City and I get every channel. This blows the factory antenna on my RV away!

What I liked most was the easy installation and setup. What was a little disappointing is the strength of the antenna to scan and bring in local channels. But overall satisfied with this product and it looks good on my roof and was easy to install without drilling any holes in the roof.

I bought one of these in black, and hooked it up prior to bolting it in place. I got 5 channels, so I completed the installation. When I turned it back on there was no reception. After testing all the wiring and trying different cables, I concluded I'd gotten one with bad circuitry and returned it. I ordered another, this time in white. I hooked it up and got no reception at all. In case it was my tv or wiring, I tried hooking a homemade rabbit ears antenna (two coat hanger wires stuck into a 2x4) to the same lead, and got 5 clear channels immediately. Perhaps I got 2 bad ones in a row, which speaks poorly for this item's quality control, or perhaps it's just a poor product. At any rate it should outperform coat hangers. I returned the second one and will buy a different brand antenna from the local RV dealer.

Works

I just installed the RVTV-W2 Magnadyne amplified antenna in my RV to replace the old one that did not work very well. luckily the base had the same configuration as the old one so it installed fairly easily. I am now able to get FM stations that were barely audible over the hiss, and I was actually able to pull in a TV channel that was not possible before. I am happy so far!

I bought a used trailer that had a new roof put on and they never put an antenna back on.This was so easy to install and we get over 50 channels . Very Very happy .

Much better than the existing portable antenna. The inclusion of the mounting plate made installation a breeze.
