Great smart looking no fuss little machine that makes great coffee
I had a well known brand basic electric espresso maker which I used for years but it started playing up - I bought a new one, same issues occurred. I now have a gas stove and decided to try one of these little stove top coffee makers instead. At a fraction of the price of my electric espresso maker, I wasn’t sure it would do the job - how wrong, it makes fabulous coffee. I got the 6 espresso cup size and that with milk added makes a huge mug of coffee, probably two normal size mugs. I followed the instructions- did three coffees and threw away before making the first coffee to drink. You fill the water below the seal, add coffee put together and put on stove using a modest heat - you don’t want the flames to extend beyond the base. It doesn’t take long before you hear it gurgle and coffee is brewed. It pours nicely and the handle isn’t hot - probably helped by not having the flames beyond the base. The instructions advise you to replace the seal every year if it doesn’t need replacing before then. I have made a note in my calendar. I would agree with another reviewer a fill line inside for the water would be handy but minor niggle. It’s a very smart machine that’s easy to clean. Best thing though is definitely the fab coffee. I’m going to look at getting the bigger size for when I have guests.

New Bialetti Venus made in China for cheaper but still produce excellent results
New Bialetti Venus with changed design. Made in China. Previous version was not made in Italy either(was made in Romania) only classical aluminium version is still made in Italy. But this is Bialetti designed. Made from stainless steel which is easier to clean and no aftertaste of aluminium version. The lower section designed work on any stove including induction. I use it on electrical stove it works like a charm. The main advantage to buy Bialetti is service parts availability. This makes this moka pot last forever ( which I could not say about expensive expresso machine which start to leak after one year and no spare parts on internet). The service parts are the another reason to pick up major brand like Bialetti over no name, no service parts alternatives. This moka pot are simple to maintain and lots of service gaskets available from any retailer. Consumer grade expresso machines (under £200) are disposable items with little chances to repair it and would last for just a little over one year on average (till warranty last). Results of the coffee is in between of French press and Electric Expresso machine: no muddiness of french press and as strong as expresso machine but flavours extracted slightly more blunt that from expresso machine but more tasteful than filter coffee maker. So this is excellent budget buy. Makes a good coffee, inexpensive to buy and maintain. As alternative good professional grade expresso machine (over £200 budget) will gives better results. But moka pot is still better than cheap consumer grade electric expresso machines.

This hob top mokka pot is great.
This hob top mokka pot is great. It is easy to use and cleaning is relatively easy. It looks stylish and makes a great cup of coffee. It is light weight and for the price you can't complain. I don't drink espresso so I use this to make a single mug and it's perfect.

A great coffee pot producing a great cup of coffee!
Bought for my husband who loves a “proper cup of coffee”. A stainless steel, quality product — this will last for years if it’s properly lookedafter. We have an induction hob and it works really well. We followed Bialetti’s instructions and found it easy to use, easy to clean and overall a great coffee pot producing a great cup of coffee.

Smart looking, spare parts easily available. Good taste
Went through a coffee maker run around before plumping for this one, the 10 cup Bialetti Venus. Well made and finished in China, which is fine. It's great, flavour has improved with use, delighted! Spare parts are easily available, which influenced my decision. It should last a very long time.

Excellent, quality, coffee pot for small cups
Bought as a backup to a Nespresso machine and to allow me to try different blends. Excellent small pot for 1 lungo or 2 espresso sized cups. Heats up really quickly and is easy to clean being stainless steel. Having said that, the hardest bit is trying to find a good coffee brand that produces consistent results like the Nespresso machine but I suppose that's part of the fun ;>)

A faulty unit. Handle came off after one month of use.
Unfortunately, after only a month of use, the handle has come off. Very poor. This is one of several of the same product I have had and the first time this has happened. I am hoping Bialetti will replace it.

Kaffe

Makes really good coffee!!
Combined with home grounded coffe this little thing makes extremely good coffee. Stainless steel both looks and is a lot better than the cheaper ones in aluminum (wich is really not good for the health!!).

IN DEPTH REVIEW! This is an amazing product.
This is an absolutely AMAZING moka pot. If you’re not sure if you should buy this one, buy it. I will tell you exactly why this is an amazing product and the steps to keep it that way. I wanted to give it some time before I wrote a review on this since I have seen others have said their moka pot has either rusted or had something else unfortunate happen. It has been about 3 weeks since I’ve had this and I have had NO issues. The most important part about using this moka pot is to clean it thoroughly. I would assume that the buyers who reported that theirs rusted did not care for them properly. Once you finish, rinse your moka pot with warm water and dry each part completely with a paper towel/towel.I have been making coffee with this wonderful product everyday and it never fails to disappoint. The thing about moka pots is that the product itself will almost always perform perfectly, and the issues are almost always caused by the owners own mistakes. With proper usage and proper care, this moka pot will pour out amazing coffee each time. Here are the steps:Step 1: Once you get the moka pot, open the manual and do a quick read of the simple instructions. There could be a few things you didn’t know, so it’s important just to give it a look.Step 2: Fill the basket up with coffee grounds. You can either use a scale or just fill the coffee up to the top of the basket and level it out. I’m pretty sure the baskets are designed to be filled up all the way. DO NOT tamp your grounds. This is to ensure that water can easily pass through the grounds. The most you should ever do is tap the sides of the basket to level out the grounds. (I do not tap the basket down or tap the sides anymore because I found that the water still has a difficult time passing through this way as well)Step 3: Pre-boil some water. Many people say it’s important to use hot water so the coffee grounds are not in contact with heat for too long therefore preventing the grounds from burning and causing an unpleasant flavor.Step 3: Turn the stovetop on to medium heat. If temperature is too high the extraction with happen too quickly. Medium is perfect.Step 4: Pour pre-boiled water into the bottom chamber. Fill just below the steam valve. If you fill too much and the water blocks the steam valve, the pressure could build up and your moka pot could explode. So this is a very important step.Step 5: Drop basket into the bottom chamberStep 6: Screw on the top of the moka pot all the way. Use a towel to grab the base so you don’t burn yourself.Step 7: Place the moka pot on the stove and watch the magic happen. You’ll see the coffee start to fill up the upper chamber and once you hear it start to sputter you will take it off and run the bottom under cold water to stop the brewing process. There you go! You’ve just made amazing moka pot coffee. Now, because moka pots rely heavily on how you use it, there’s many ways you can tweak the process and develop your own brewing technique. The steps I gave you are just the basics.Okay so real quick. When you clean the moka pot remember to dry it THOROUGHLY. Separate all three parts of the moka pot. Rise each part with warm water. The bottom part and basket are the easiest to clean because one only has water in it and the other is just a small basket. The top part is still extremely easy to clean, but because this is where the coffee sits it takes about a second more to clean. Just make sure you get all the coffee out so your next brew is as fresh as it can be.Now when you dry, simply just take a paper towel and get all the water out. Make sure it’s completely dry so you don’t run into any issues. When you’re done, just assemble it as normal and don’t screw the top part on too tight. Leave it attached but keep it loose. This is to make sure you don’t wear out the rubber gasket. There’s so much more information on the internet that will teach you how to use it even better, but I hope this helps too!
