Well built, easy to use and recommended
I don't usually write reviews, but this wheel boot deserves a boost. I use it on my 'last call' Challenger WB which has 12" wide wheels. I accidentally put the key in at an angle a few months ago, permanently damaging it. The process to order a replacement was w/o issue and professionally handled. Within a month of using the boot daily the plastic key insert protection flap broke of, but that probably because it was bitter cold outdoors and it simply cracked. I oil it frequently and use it all year round, no regrets!

Head and Shoulders above every other wheel lock on Amazon.
Lock is about 4 times heavier than completive product I returned. The returned lock had clamps made from very thin stamped sheet metal that can easily be defeated with a crowbar. Go on to any travel camper discussion group and you will read stories about wheels locks and ball locks easily broken by thieves. This lock is very strong and made from square tubes with heavy walls much stronger than the cheap locks. This lock is definitely worth the money if you want a real deterrent rather than a minor inconvenience protecting your trailer.

Don't use triangle tips
This ones doesn't have uneven weaknesses like the claw I saw at a store. It's pretty heavy but I'm strong. Girls with little purses will break a nail

Not quite the right fit but very heavy duty
This is really heavy duty and feels solidly built. The other wheel locks/boots available on Amazon seem flimsy in comparison. I’m not really sure how to fit it on my trailer wheel though. It seems like it’s only designed for very specific trailer wheel rims. It would be better if the points were narrower so it could fit tighter on the rim.

Not for the Kawasaki Mule
The build quality is great. However it is completely ineffective for the Kawasaki mule.We bought a new mule for the ranch and I wanted a bit of added security. Unfortunately I purchased this lock and was immediately hit with 2 family crises that kept me out of town the last month planning funerals. By the time I got back to try this lock on the Mule I missed my return window by a day.The sizing is just off when it comes to locking the wheels on this utv. I can get the plate closer but it won't lock because the button doesn't align with any of the holes at the tightest point. I'm forced to widen it.I've tried all 4 wheels and tried different angles/heights and this is the closest I can get to booting it. At this point it's just a visual deterrent since I can get a tire iron between the plate and the lug nut.I'm extremely disappointed.

Requires practice to install
Product is good and solid. It requires some practice depending on what kind of the wheels you have.

One BEEFY Locking device...
Solid Steel and very weighty. The sliding mechanism operates smoothly and it's easy to push the lock cylinder into place, once you have aligned it over an available hole. I found I had to rotate the short piece 90 degrees, in order to place it into the backside of my ZTR mower wheel. Once the tip was behind the wheel, its easy to just rotate it back again, so the short piece (w/black tip) lays parallel to my rear axle. Then when I slid the longer piece into place, I found that I could get it one-notch-tighter by slightly turning it so the longer piece was at a slight angle to the tire. (ie slightly cockeyed, but TIGHT)I finally figured out where it says “width of wheel hook 5.7” in the picture, that the dotted line should NOT be vertical, but instead Horizontal. That is, the distance from the Black Tip of the Wheel Hook back to where it makes a 90-degree bend going downward. So the Wheel Hook can reach into the wheel up to 5.7”deep.At first glance, it appears they are saying it can only fit around a Tire that is up to 5.7” tall, or thick. (ie from outside tread to tire bead measurement) In fact, it can fit over a tire that is up to 9” thick or tall depending on how you look at it.NOTE: One can also drill a 3/8” hole through the long sliding square section, thus making a way to lock it up with a Long Shank PadLock too! (ie The holes are only drilled into the top of the longer sliding section. By drilling a hole on through the backside of the sliding section, you can also utilize a Padlock too, or in lieu of the spring-loaded Cylindrical Lock) So if the locking mechanism ever fails, or you just want a tighter fit on your wheel...add your own hole & padlock to it.
