Finally I have a Great Jigsaw...
The only jig saw I've had for many years was a $20 B&D. You get what you pay for. It was so much better at jumping around, than it was at cutting. Since I've really gotten back into woodworking, I knew I needed a real jig saw. After alot of research and reading reviews, this was my saw of choice and I could not be more happy. Out of the case, in your hands, you can just feel the heft and quality of this unit. Does not mean it will be an outstanding tool, but at least you know it's well made. Perfect finish all around for the unit I received. Can't find any flaws. Mine came in a very nice case, more than study enough for my use. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about, that it doesn't come with an upgraded case? The included case is VERY nice. Seems people might be expecting the world for the price. I've never been a fan of D handle jigsaws, as most are. Just don't seem to have as much control and it was always awkward, and often top heavy. Though that might be a preference. So I am Loving this saw, it just feels so good in my hand and I think it is much better to control. Nice and easy to grip and use. Have not cut alot with it yet, but what I've done, it's cut so well. Plenty of power in this unit. It has no problem going anything I've thrown at it. Plus the barrel grip gets you closer to the workpiece, so not top heavy like most D handles. Cuts nice and straight. I do agree that the vacuum attachment can be a pain to get on and off. But, once you get the hang of it, it's not terrible. Although, I really wish I could leave the attachment on all the time, but I can't because then the saw won't fit in the case. I have nothing but good to say about this saw. You get what you pay for and I think it was money well spent. You can buy this once and be very happy, or you can buy cheap saws over and over and be very sad. Would highly recommend!

My favorite jig saw, made even better!
I have been a Bosch barrel body design jig saw user from very early on in my building and remodeling business. While there are some that provide even more features like laser guides etc., this tool will do what you need and then some. My old Bosch model has a wheel blade guide system to keep the blade vertical. I'm happy to see they've kept this design, but made it even better. The no tool blade quick change is also worthy of note. Push a lever to the side and the old blade pops out! Hold the lever to the side, slip the new blade in and release, done! The LED light that can be switched on and off, is well positioned and lights the blade well. The bevel cut plate adjustment is straight forward and adequate with solid 45° stops. It comes with a long power cord for easy reach and it's nice it comes with a case. Just remember, a case only helps extend the life and good condition of a tool if you use it! (Some past regret on my part in that department, 😉)! I recently used this tool to cut the 2x and 3/4" plywood barrel ceiling arches on one of my projects shown in the picture. The saw vibration was minimal, cutting was smooth and the cuts were true and square. All in all, a very good tool for the money.

Great little jigsaw
I've got about 10 hours in with this saw and I love it. This is my first barrel grip saw. Wish I had bought one earlier. I run a small business on the side and do a lot of home decor items. I use a jigsaw a lot, so I went ahead and got a top of the line Bosch. Great little saw. Control switches are much smoother than my older model. The saw itself is much smoother with much less vibration. Love the LED light. If you work indoors at all, the LED light is priceless. One thing I immediately noticed was the turning radius. This saw turns on a dime (actually less, ha). Amazed at how much tighter it turns than my old pistol grip. And I haven't burned or broken as any blades. Very comfortable grip and I don't have gorilla hands. The new blade rollers are really sweet. Definitely much less blade deflection. Haven't had a problem adjusting the base and keeping it at 90. Very powerful motor. The auto adjust is great when it's under load. Overall, I couldn't be happier.

Great machine
Bought this to partner with my existing D Handle bosch 1587AVS and it does what it is intended to do. Oddly, its doesnt seem as heavy as my old 1587AVS, but that could be hand position as well. It does function very well without getting sloppy from it's own vibrations (like most of the "competitor" jigsaws out there). Fast blade changes is a cool feature and tool-less adjustments are welcomed. The ONLY issue I have with this unit is that it runs hot. When I say hot, I mean burn the hell out of your hand hot, so keep repositioning as you use it or you too will get annoyed with it. (This won't stop me from using it, or prompt a return, but it is an issue that needs to be designed out of the product line in the future) Overall, its a great unit and does exactly what it is designed to do, very accurately too. Definitely recommend.

Top Quality Tool - Very Smooth
I borrowed a prior version of this tool to do some repairs and liked it so much I decided to buy this version, replacing a 35 year old Black and Decker that still works - but hard to use. The barrel grip is very nice and the tool-less blade change is nice as well. I really kie the LED lights and blade support that make cutting on a line much more accurate. No blade deflection was noted on 1 1/2 inch 2x8s. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make the LEDs come on automatically when the tool is started. There is no real reason to have them off when cutting. The second switch could be used to force them on, even if the tool is off to allow accurate positioning before starting the motor. Recommend.

Great jigsaw - glad I got the barrel handle
I had an older Bosch Progressor jigsaw. Need to have finer control for working curves and I tended to grab the older unit by the body, so the purchase of this saw. Light is great addition. The extra guide support for the blade is something that has to be tried. Sawed curve in 2 inch red oak - slowed down some and got nice clean cuts that are square to the surface. Much better that I was getting with the older saw model. Vibration is non-existent and the power is great. This is a great addition to my shop tool box! I will be using this a lot with cutting curves in stair treads and with notching pergola rafters.

Broke on first use
First use and the base plate broke from the frame, the frame is broken not the base plate, what a waste of money, they sent me a new base plate but the frame is broken, don’t buy the castings are junk, one month past warranty so they won’t stand behind it, last Bosch tool we will buy for our company.

Great tool
My last Bosch Jigsaw finally died after 30 years of hard use and abuse. The handle was broken, and the table was bent but still ticking. So this one should last me the rest of my life. If you can't cut a straight line or fair curve with this one, it's not the saw. Just a little pro tip; I have found you can always know a well-made power tool by the length of the power cord that comes on it. This has a nice long cord.
