I put them on in the morning befor I leave the house and take them off at night. These are the best knee pads on the market iv tried most of them and these are very comfortable Tips : the little nobs that hold the straps will break off around 6 months to a year if u are wearing them all day. Just use some 1inch eyelet screws as seen in the picture they work great Tip: when the padding go's flat just use some quality carpet underlay padding and cut a little sqare and super glue it on. It will last years and never go flat. The tops will start to break off after 4 years but iv bought another pair but I'm stuff wearing the old ones because they are still so comfortable. Only use the bottom strap to hold them on your legs and you will forget they are there. Review: Impressed so far - As a regular user of knee pads I bought these with some trepidation, I am a gardener and get through loads. Usually they wear out too quick on the pads or the straps or cannot be cleaned. With these they can be cleaned easily and seem to bear my weight well. They come with two straps but one will do giving a spare strap should the one being used not last too long. It is going to be interesting to see how long the straps do last as they are preformed plastic with a number of fixing slots in them. Do seem to have a tendency to twist which might be down to only using one strap. Can I wear them in bathtub? MUST-HAVE!** A: Interesting question... But "yes". There is no material per se in the construction of these knee pads. I have been a tile man for 25 years, and when Home Depot started carrying these about 10 years ago, they were / are the best knee pads I've ever owned. For whatever reason, Home Depot stopped carrying them, and I located them here on Amazon. When I need new ones, I usually buy 5 or 6 pair at a time so I never run out when I need them. The outer surface is a durable "rubbery" material that wont scratch (in my case, wood floors). The inner layer is made of a spongy material that wont degrade with sweat or water. I've worn these kneeling in mud while digging up plumbing pipes outdoors. So my long answer to your question is "yes", fine in a bathtub **Q: I just got these and they are hard plastic, nothing about it says none slip/mar on floor, did every bodies come in a hard plastic?** A: yes. hasn't scratched floor, but has saved my knees **Q: Any of you folks tried other CLC kneepads? I love these pads but, working on a steep roof, they tend to slide up.
