Perfect solution to the tea kettle
This little pot is wonderful. I have gone through countless tea kettles and have varying issues from them rusting to the whistle stops wroking. But this has been a lifesaver. I can fill it up turn it on and it turns itself off once the water boils. Not to mention the really cool blue glow that the pot has when it's warming the water. It's clear so it's easy to see if there is water still in or if it needs more and markings on the side indicate the minimum and maximum level of waater to use. When it's heating the glass does get hot.

Makes Water Taste Like Plastic
This kettle boils water almost instantly, it's beautifully made and sturdy. Unfortunately, when the water boils it adds a noxious odor/flavor to the water. I tried using only bottled water, boiling several gallons of vinegar, changing brands of instant coffee/tea but the noxious flavor persists, which is curious because it's mostly made of glass. I would only recommend this if you have no taste buds or sense of smell.

Here's what I don't like: the kettle feels top-heavy
Though this kettle is currently out of stock, in case it becomes available again I want to add my review. This is my second glass electric kettle, bought to replace one that died a month after the warranty expired. I chose this one because the price seemed reasonable, it has a 2 year warranty, and it is glass, the interior of which is easier to clean than stainless steel. It heats water as quickly as my other electric glass kettle did, and as quickly as my stainless-steel kettle. Here's what I don't like: the kettle feels top-heavy, especially at the half-way mark and above (I've never filled it much more than halfway). I think this may be due to the rather tall design (rather than "tea-pot" design). The top of the handle is very thick, which makes gripping it, and balancing it while pouring, a little tricky. My hands are not small, but my solution is not to wrap my thumb around the handle; I shift my grip somewhat to balance the kettle. The pouring spout is wider than I'd like, so pouring into a small vessel, such as a bottle (to sterilize), is challenging. Otherwise, this kettle is satisfactory. I hope it lasts at least 2 years!

Not that awesome 4 months after...
Excellent product! Easy to clean, boils fast, really satisfied with the item. Worth every penny. The illuminated kettle lets me know at a glance when the water is boiling, even with the kitchen lights off. UPDATE: To my great dissapointment, out of the blue, this kettle started leaking from the base. All the wonder plummeted as we started to see at home puddles of water every time we used it. Not worth the effort or the money if you have to replace this item every 4 months...

A taste test produces the following results....
I love the convenience of this product... Fewer worries about leaving the stove gas with the kettle. this boils fast and has a great look. somewhat heavy/bulky body to it. no question that there's a plasticky-chemical-like smell when you pop the lid after a boil. It doesn't bother me much. However, my wife and I did a taste test of the boiled water with four cups:1) tea made with water poured immediately after boiling;2) tea made with water poured 15 minutes after boiling;3) plain hot water made with water poured immediately after boiling;4) plain hot water made with water poured 15 minutes after boiling; The results: both of us clearly noticed an off-taste with any water left in the pot after 5 minutes --- it was indisputable. The conclusion: we boil our water and pour immediately and haven't had any issue with taste or anything. This is less than ideal, but it suffices and I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it.

Nice product!
Nice looking kettleI did not detect any odor, I followed directions then tried a taste test...... No plastic taste. Blue light is nice, not that I'm boiling water in the dark, but it is a good visual to let you know/ remind you it is turned on.If this holds up to fairly consistent use ( use 4-5 times a week ) I'll be one happy tea drinker

The product is falsely advertised. I bought it specifically ...
The product is falsely advertised. I bought it specifically because it said quiet in the name but the kettle is not quiet. I wanted to replace my Hamilton Beach stainless steel electric tea kettle which was purchased from Costco because it was too loud but this Brewberry is just as loud as what I had. The plastic taste is also still there after boiling water a number of times. Do not buy this product if you are looking for a quiet electric kettle.

Works and looks cool. Be gentle with it.
If you don’t want green rust, never leave it all the way empty - air is what allows for oxidation. If you don’t want the base to fry and stop working, don’t fill it in the sink and let the bottom get wet (I use filtered water from a pitcher to fill it). Take care of your things and they won’t break.I’m honestly surprised this is still working after three years considering the design is pretty cheap, but I still love watching the water boil after all this time. Use it almost every day and it’s still going strong.Cleaning it is a giant pain though, since you can’t get any of the the electronic parts wet, and the outside is a grease magnet if you’re using it anywhere near a stovetop.
