Functional and beautiful
Used these hinge pin door stops when I changed the door hardware. They work great and look so much better than the old style ones. Low profile and hardly noticeable. I have already ordered more for my other doors.

Small but solved the problem
Very easy to install, works perfectly, totally recommend.

Clever design, but wish the stop point was more positive
Nice low-profile design. No posts sticking out of the wall to trip on or quadrants sticking out from the hinges pressing against the trim. Contact points are on the hinges themselves preventing damage to the trim and door. Installation was not too bad, just remove one hinge pin, insert pin through the stop set and reinsert the pin leaving it up at least 1/2". This allows you to separate and "clock" the two parts and test the swing. Once set, fully reset the pin. However, I was expecting a more positive stop. They have a lot of spring to them. I am building solid oak interior doors which have a lot of inertia. I had to adjust the stop point so that the doors are not open a full 90 degrees in order to prevent the knob from hitting the wall. I'm not sure if this flex is in the hinge plates or in the stop (or both). Additionally, the range of adjustment does not allow for a full 180 degree opening for my doors that open into a hallway. At best I'm getting about 150 degrees so the door is blocking the passage when open.

Solved my problem
I needed a door stop for a very particular purpose. The location of the door I needed these for precludes using a doorstop you screw into the wall (I wouldn't use one of those anyway, other than as a last resort). The typical hinge pin doorstop does not work because, even at full adjustment, it does not allow the door to open far enough. I needed a doorstop that would allow the door to open in the neighborhood of 140 degrees. This was perfect for the job. It worked great on my door, but you need to read the listing carefully, as there are a few situations where this doorstop is not suitable.

Don't be misled by the endorsed reviewers as I was.
Lucky me. I get to post the first honest and unbiased review NOT in exchange for a discount or free item. I bought five of these figuring I would be on the safe side installing three on a solid wood door and two on a hollow door. I chose them because they had adjustable cams and that would give me a bit of flexibility for doors I needed to set at 90 degrees and therein avoid the door handles smacking into a gypsum board wall. After installing the first three, the 90 degree setting allowed the door with the slightest force to still bang the wall. On the next cam setting the door will only open to about 80 degrees, then swing back and stay put at about 70 degrees. This is because the upper and lower stop bars torque against one another and start to "V", as they are too short and weakly made to create a solid stop. And because of this "V"ing, the top cam pushes the hinge pin further and further out each time you open the door, exacerbating the problem. It doesn't help that now with these things installed, the hinge pins no longer securely reach the bottom hinge loop. If I'm not doing a good job of explaining why these do not work, let me sum it up by saying they do not work. I can see why, and I'm available to consult on a re-engineering project in exchange for replacement free items that I can give my honest and unbiased opinion about.

Works decent enough 3 per door.
Disappointed that they are not identical. One will put stress on the door hinge so I got 3 for each hinge of our exterior doors so they distribute the load to help prevent damage if someone was hard on it. One door need to stop before hitting a table & another I wanted to slow at the doorstop to prevent damage. Overall it works but the internal gear like cuts are dissimilar between each one & one hinge will stress a little more before the other two engage. Only competitors were the wrong size so make sure you double check size. These guys had the larger one I needed for exterior doors.

Works GREAT in older homes!
This really works! You remove your pin, adjust it to the setting you want and place it on top of the hinge Replace the pin in the door. This is all it takes! I have 125 year old hinge hardware and door moulding and it fit perfectly!

Unique, but still not ready for prime time.
I ordered these pin stops to prevent two doors from smacking into a cabinet within close proximity to the doors. Due to the strange angle, other pin stoppers were not possible and carpet prevented floor bumpers from being attached. These do solve the problem, but have problems of their own. As other reviewers have stated, there is quite a bit of flex when they do engage the door hinge. I would say a good 20 degrees or more of freedom, especially if pressed hard or the door swung with force. I would NOT recommend these to protect a wall from a door knob!!! The other major complaint is that each notch on the adjustment equals a large degree of door freedom. What I really needed was a notch in-between the two that would have been the sweet spot, instead I had to settle with not letting the door open as much as it could or allow the door to smack the cabinet. Overall, I think the design would work better built into the actual hinges. Attaching to the top allows too much vertical and rotational movement (think V bending) allowing far too much movement on the door. I may actually try to create a hybrid hinge by removing some of the actual hinge with a dremmel tool and installing the pin system in the middle of the hinge body.

The product works as advertised. I subtracted one point because it would have been nice to have a more finer adjustment for setting the stop point.

Not a great product because it bites into the door frame. Would work fine possibly on a steel frame door

Fitted it on, didn't work. Went straight into the garage. One of the worst purchases I've had that I can recall.
